I love this series. Bring it to a console or a handheld!
What's there to be confused about? Halo's never been about graphics. The graphics take a backseat to the gameplay. That's where the game has always shined. As a fan, I think Halo 3 looks great so far. All the non-fans can say what they want. They don't have to play it.
The first FlatOut was a blast. Everyone complained about the control, but I thought it was great. Then FO2 came out and got bad reviews, but I didn't see the problem with that game, either. It's as if arcade racers like SF Rush don't cut it these days, but I think they're just as fun now as they were back then. Sometimes I don't want a serious racing game. One thing that makes FlatOut stand out from the likes of Burnout and such is the ragdoll effects. Gotta love hitting a tree or a car and f...
The demo still has some rough edges, but I fell in love with the gameplay.
I agree. But 08 still looks pretty good. And you can't really judge damage from a video, for a lot of racers these days allow you to adjust the level of damage. Hopefully we'll be treated to some spectacular damage effects like you're referring to, though. :D One thing I loved about NASCAR Thunder was the sense of speed. It looks like that will be present in 08. This game definitely has my attention.
All I can say is when Halo 3 hits shelves... Gears of what?
It's pathetic how a lot of you guys get so worked up over things like this. Then you get all defensive and just fall into what the article pretty much set out to do: rile you up. If you're happy with what you have, that's all that should matter. Who gives a rat's ass about the negative things people have to say about the things you like? The internet is full of negativity. Why contribute to it? It's just very small people that think their opinion is actually worth something.
Did anybody catch that?
"Only for it to be followed up by yet another stinker in the form of the 32X -- another CD-based machine that plugged into the Genesis's cartridge slot"
That guy's a moron.
Yeah, and there are as many intelligent comments on this site as there are good PS3 games.
I had trouble understanding him myself.
I never could understand why some people think their opinion actually matters -- whether in politics, religion, personal preference, etc.
Some things you just keep to yourself, because most of us just don't care. If you're not a racing fan, that's perfectly fine. But why state your distaste for racing games to a sea of racing fans in a news post for a racing game? I don't see the point.
I agree. Most of us here are racing fans. We should be glad the genre is pushing forward. GT was revolutionary in its day, but it has since gone stale, and now it's Forza's turn. Love it or hate it, but get over it. If GT can manage to surpass Forza in everything that makes a good racing sim (NOT just graphics), and very well could, then all power to GT. But GT5 is a ways off, so why spoil other people's fun?
Don't be such a fanboy/graphics boy. I'm a HUGE GT fan and played the ever living crap out of the series, but it has gone stale. Other than graphics, the series hasn't really advanced since GT1. If all you care about is graphics, then don't even bother commenting. It's too early to judge Forza 2, but with all the gameplay elements, car damage, satellite-realistic tracks, in-depth painting tool, physics, etc., how can you even put it down? As a racing game, it's a serious innovation for the ge...
Has any info on the Collectors Edition with the "3" exclusive cars been released yet? And will it include the Nissan Fairlady if pre-ordered from Gamestop and junk? I'm confused about that. I want to pre-order, but I'd like to get all those cars.
"Why do American's have to try and teach me how to spell my own language?"
Hey now, I've known Europeans to do the same thing, claiming Americans have butchered the English language.
Pay no attention to PhinneousD. Some people are oblivious to dialect.
And on topic, nice post. Crappy quality, but it's nice to know that the armor customizations are a little more in-depth.
Actually, it's prat. It's a British word for stupid or foolish person, like yourself.
I don't know how that would work. You could just sign on to LIVE from a friend's 360 and download the games on theirs, unless they made it so you couldn't play the full version without being signed into LIVE with your account, which would suck.
When you download LIVE games, notice how the trial is the same size as the full. That's because you're only downloading a key that unlocks it, which is tied to your 360's serial #. Like some people have stated already, it's not a problem...
Two morons sitting in a tree...
The sword was cool on paper, but they seriously need to nerf it for Halo 3. It was a menace on smaller maps. I also wish they'd nerf the locking mechanism on the rocket launcher. Things like that took no skill. I remember Halo:CE and getting badass RL shots on Warthogs from afar on maps like Blood Gulch and Sidewinder. Leading a rocket and destroying something with it is more satisfying than using a lock-on in my opinion.
Agreed. Halo is fun. You either love it or hate it. I've put over 4,000 online matches into Halo 2 alone, and I can say that Halo 3 looks leaps and bounds better than Halo 2. Those that are saying it looks similar to Halo 2 are either a) blind or b) haven't come to terms with Halo's artistic style. Not once have I played the Halo series thinking, "Wow, this looks great", but rather, "This plays great."
