I'd have to say Halo 1 all around. But that's just me. I had good times with friends via system link on Halo 1. The games were more personal and I could see my friends' reactions. The campaign was more refined.
Halo 2 kind of messed with the gameplay formula by adding dual-wielding and the sword. In terms of having so many custom game options, it definitely beat Halo 1, though. And as we all know, the campaign was weak.
My two cents.
No respect when compared to PC tournaments? I'd have to disagree. Apparently you've never heard of MLG. Console tournaments are a big deal these days.
If it's so mindless, then why is it played professionally in tournaments? There IS a lot strategy to it, especially objective-type games. Those who think otherwise are the ones getting their rears handed to them. The same people also think it's simply a run and gun type of game.
It was a decent article, but I don't understand why people write about things like this. This can be applied to so many things. I think the television show 24 is garbage, but I'm not going to write an article about its success, simply because I don't understand it. It's just not my thing. No mention of the original Halo, so of course she can't see what the big deal is about. For me, the big deal was all-nighters with friends and linked Xbox's, the campaign on legendary -- frustrating, but not...
I don't know, but he's acting like one of those 11 year olds he speaks of.
Dude, I wouldn't be posting pictures of your rice rocket.
No surprise there considering EGM has been biased towards MK games for a quite a while. They put the series down every chance they get. Look at their reaction to this situation, attacking Midway instead. EGM loves the low blows. It's ran by a bunch of immature morons now.
What, are you 12? Did that make your pee pee feel bigger? It's a game. Games are meant to be fun. And Forza 2 is definitely fun. And for the time being, it's the best racing sim on next gen consoles; more realistic than what GT has to offer in the series' current form. GT5 on the other hand... it's way too early to tell. I love GT with a passion, but with only two games Turn 10 has made a pretty great racing sim, whereas Poly is on their 4th and still no damage models or huge advancements in ...
That's what you'd call a graphics boy. There's nothing wrong with wanting something to look good, but for it to come first and foremost before gameplay and to judge a game based on its looks is sad. Some of the best games ever made to this day don't have pretty graphics to today's standards. It's basically a matter of training your eyes. If you played Atari 2600 for one day, I guarantee you that the NES would look like a godsend the next.
Does comments like that boost your self-esteem or something?
I agree. I'm tired of these flame bait articles. Maybe if the blog post has something intelligent to say, but rumors or opinions that rile people up are getting old.
Agreed. And if it does go multi-platform, that'll give you kids something else to PMS over -- which one will *look* better. I don't see what the big deal is, though, other than Sony losing another exclusive. If the PS3 can do it better, then what's the worry?
How can you honestly say that about a game you haven't played yet? Forza has already surpassed GT in many ways. I'm not saying the GT series is bad at all. I love GT. But Forza's taking sims to a whole new level as far as gameplay is concerned -- gameplay is more important than graphics when it comes to sims in my opinion. Yeah, FM2's graphics could've been better, but it has so much more going for it.
It's amusing when people result to name calling when they disagree with someone's opinion over the INTERNET. Talk about calling the kettle black.
My mom's a girl, so you would be correct.
The whole time I was browsing the list, I was thinking that Eternal Darkness better be on it. I'm glad it made the 4th spot. That game was one of the best experiences I've ever encountered in my 20 years of gaming.
So do girls.
Ah, good to know. 4 out of 5 ain't bad, though. :\
It's Halo. Contrary to popular belief, not all of us care about graphics more than gameplay. That's where Halo has always shined. For the vets, like me, who got their start on Halo 1, one can say that sometimes less is more. Not only was the campaign immersing, but the multiplayer was a blast over system link, and the arsenal just -worked-. That's probably why most vets want Halo 3 to be more like 1, because it was so basic, yet not. But you also have fans that got their start on 2 and actual...
@#1: Thanks for your worthless opinion that nobody gives a crap about. No, really.
@everyone else: Why let someone with only one bubble rile you up? He's obviously a moron. He's the one that has to live with himself. He's probably the kind of douche bag that would drive backwards on the track, thinking it was funny.
