Unfortunately, Skyrim stole the limelight.
I truly believe if a game is great, it will sell. Dark Souls will definitely get pirated for the same reason, but there's this general misconception that piracy actually hurts sales (it doesn't) and that all pirates are bad (they're not). To elaborate, people pirate for different reasons:
- Profit.
- Because most DRM sucks.
- They can't afford it.
- It's convenient.
Just to name a few.
I don't c...
I miss the days when my friends would bring over their Xboxes to play Halo over LAN all throughout the night. It was amazingly fun. The trash talk was friendly and we could see each other's faces; nothing like it is now, where strangers have no regard for each other, while hiding behind their anonymity. You never really saw that kind of attitude in arcades, either. The internet has given cowards a place to voice their opinion without consequence.
Haha, I like how someone had to disagree with this. Don't worry, if this article holds any truth, they'll cater to you next game. ;)
I figured as much. Even some of the weapon animations look shitty (like when you run with certain shotguns). Another thing I liked about BO was the diving and the way all the weapons felt. Running with a Stakeout in your hands felt really nice.
I think one thing most people can agree on is that COD4 was the best the series had to offer. Not only was the campaign fucking phenomenal, but the MP didn't cater to all these ADHD kids that like to run and gun; it was slower, mak...
In other news, I finally finished up all the achievements on Dark Souls the other day (3 and a half playthroughs later). I'm not an achievement whore by any means, which goes to show how phenomenal this game is.

No shit. All I see are tards with "420" in their name, and half of them couldn't tell you what it actually means.
Couldn't agree with you more. While there's a lot of people who dislike WW2 games, I enjoyed WaW, and Black Ops was the first CoD I actually hit max prestige on. Black Ops had some great ideas. I don't understand why they didn't incorporate some of them into MW3 (e.g. BO's theater mode had much better controls, and the shotguns actually killed people).
And he did it using his intelligence. The real question people should be asking is if Ratchet could beat Superman.
I'd call it a necessity if you surf the web a lot. It's common sense. ;D
That's why you use an ad blocker. In the case of Firefox or Chrome, Adblock Plus works well.
This is why I only trust reviews (if I pay attention to reviews at all) from Jeff Gerstmann and Dan Hsu, two people who aren't afraid to tell it like it is. The industry needs more honest journalists like them.
@Yi-Long: I can't speak for other Sega HD ports, but I thought they did a fantastic job with Daytona USA. If only Sega Rally got the same treatment.
Believe it or not, a lot of people in the industry who appear to be one-sided are actually far from it. At the end of the day, it's their job.
But you're probably right.
That was a joke by the way. ;)
It's your upper lip.
Play what you like and shut the fuck up. Seriously. What's the sense in arguing over what franchise is the biggest/best? All the franchises that have been mentioned here are full of win, and if you limit yourself to one thing because you're a fanboy, that also makes you an idiot. Call me crazy, but I'd much rather have a conversation about video games with someone who is passionate about the industry as a whole over someone with limited knowledge and a biased opinion (aka a fanboy...
"I cannot have a single moment of nostalgia without someone saying GoldenEye 007, and before I can even form a rebuttal, they start to go on about how it was the greatest game ever, and how it revolutionized first person shooters, and how nothing else will match up to it. Okay, I understand. It was “ahead of its time”, but please, there are better games out there that deserve more praise than this relic."
While there's definitely better games now, those games ha...
The name "Mortal Combat" was suggested by pinball designer Steve Ritchie, who went on to voice the series' main antagonist, Shao Kahn, in MKII, MK3, UMK3, and MKT.
According to John Tobias, "Mortal Combat" was submitted to a trademark attorney but the title was vetoed. The 'C' was then changed to a 'K' in order to secure the name.
It says LIVE.

I'm confused. The official site says it'll be available for download only, yet this box art was released. I guess we'll see. At the very least, it's probably safe to assume that it'll be released on Steam and other digital distribution services.
