I still don't see the big deal about the price of something you only buy once a generation. Within reason of course. I don't want to be spending thousands but I won't bother too much about a hundred difference or so.
I'm not saying this a console fanboy, there are already some PS4 games that have me thinking the same thing but I just got depressed watching this. It's technically kinda impressive but I'm so so so sick of how generic and bland everything is nowadays. The technology is getting amazing in these games it the artistry is still completely retarded (not being flip with that word. I mean it's progress seems to have literally been retarded by fear of doing anything too daring).
The amount of zombies on screen is mind blowing. The graphics overall look pretty good but the player animation is horrendous and the writing and overall tone still looks too cheesy for my tastes., As the Dead rising series always was. I know, I know, B movies etc but it doesn't look B movie cheesy, it looks Capcom cheesy.
That's what DX11 is. It's sort of a trade off. It makes everything clearer and higher res but it sets everything on fire.
I think I'll be watching the Games of the throneses when the live conference starts over here. Anybody know if the whole show will be up anywhere after its aired live? Somewhere like gametrailers or ign, that I can easily watch on the iPad? I tried doing the same with the Xbox one reveal but couldn't find the full uninterrupted show anywhere.also, anybody know how long the show is likely to run?
Thanks a ton in advance.
Okay that's cool. I mean Legacy of Kain was never really about experiencing an incredibly engrossing single player story or anythi....wait.....what?
You bastard!!!! I was JUST about to sit down and watch all the Harry Potter films for the first time.
...only joking. In all seriousness though this article was good to read. Even if I can't be sure the spoiler in question is the one I read or sure that this article isn't just lying to make me feel better, it's still enough for me to go on my media blackout feeling uncertain about what will happen in the game.
Good article, Kotaku. If anybody needs me I...
Fantastic. I loaned Uncharted 3 to a friend shortly after my first playthrough and never got it back. I considered buying Littlebigplanet Karting because I quite liked the demo but the mediocre reviews made me wait and I always wanted to try Xcom but am not usually a big strategy guy so I was scared to pay full price.
PS+ truly is the definition of amazing customer service. I'm not trying to be a fanboy but how the hell can you avoid it? How many other services actually ...
It also monitors your emails in case you make any amusing spelling mistakes due to your hands shaking from fear.
I hope the game version is better than the real thing. From what I remember I never was a big fan. Too bright.
Do not go on their youtube even for a laugh. I'm pretty sure I had a major plot moment spoiled for me by some ass commenting on their channel. Not even accidentally, I'm talking about one of those douches who intentionally just types out spoilers. I swear if I knew how to find people's home addresses from their youtube handle I'd probably have killed them. Not even out of anger for having this spoiled, just out of the anger that such crappy wastes of life exist.
How truly miserable are you that this is what you do with your day?
That hint in Uncharted 3 makes me sad. Makes me think both these franchises are set in the same Universe. I don't want to think of poor Nate or Elena having their eyes popped out of their head by the mutant fungus growing in their skull making them kill people but you know the odds are that's what happened to them. Obviously Sully would be fine but the others, I don't like to think about it.
This argument will always be pointless until we can find a solid definition for 'winning'. Some judge it by sales, some judge it by number of exclusives, some judge it by technical innovation. I personally care who provides me with the best experience as a relatively hardcore gamer next console generation.
The Xbox one being an 'entertainment hub' may 'win' for Microsoft in terms of money made but so would writing it into the small print of their contrac...
...Ummmm, okay. You know you're the ones bringing it up, don't you? Or is this the first part in a long series of articles about things that don't matter? If so I look forward to not reading about how it doesn't matter that Sonic the hedgehog is blue or that Ezio had dark hair.
I don't mean to be a conspiracy theorist but come of the criticisms here are reaally reaching. Under this story alone I've seen Post-apocalyptic fiction itself attacked as propaganda for the conservative white patriarchy. I've seen many people attacking this game for being 'yet another mindless shooter'. Now I've seen people attacking the very act of reviewing a game any less than a couple of weeks after its released. Is it really that painful to consider that it just ...
Are you trying to imply that all (or at least most) fans of post apocalyptic fiction are politically conservative and afraid of change? Because that's just not true. I don't think people who truly expect and truly fear the order and tradition of society breaking down want to spend their time making believe it's already happened. I think you'll find most big time fans of post-apocalyptic fiction such as myself are nerds and misfits who at least partly secretly want the society ...
The problem is that people watching this are expecting it to be another zombie game. The standalone version has nothing to do with zombies, it's a weed-laced-with-crack-smoking sim. Watch the vid again with that in mind and I think you'll agree it looks pretty damn good.
It doesn't look like some industry changing breakthrough or anything but I'm really happy to see how slow and methodical it looks. I have been scared off of multiplayer by the fact that it just seems like insane bullet spraying and I usually survive about two seconds before being sprayed with bullets from somebody I don't even see. This looks like thinking and planning will actually be useful and not just a way to get your back shot up by somebody with quick reactions running arou...
I'm actually glad we're seeing more of the single player. This is the first Killzone game to come close to intriguing me due to the cleaner, more colourful art style and the fact that the protagonist seems more Ninja like and less like the kind of jock grunt I hate. Still, I've been worried that that was just the intro and most of the rest of the game is all dull greys and browns and macho nonsense. I hope this footage will put those worries to rest.
