Psychonauts really needs to dress itself up in HD, climb on a disc next to Grim Fandango and get in my console.
This is possibly the most pedantic thing I've ever read. A 'Citizen Kane moment' in videogames doesn't mean a videogame that resembles Citizen Kane in every way from the content of it's plot to it's accessibility to audiences decades after release. It simply means a moment in which a creative work demonstrates the possibilities of it's medium to such an extent that people's beliefs about the limits of that particular artistic medium are completely shattered.
I really don't get the way these guys are acting like they created some kind of heartfelt work of art with the first game. Payday made dudebro military shooters look classy. I appreciate a game based around not completely moral characters but Payday didn't even offer me the slightest bit of justification for its nastiness. It just put a gun in my hand and told me to go shoot a cop in the face. I'm not saying I was outraged or anything but it certainly didn't feel like an artis...
The stories were brilliantly written but sadly, after hoping their next entry into the series would bring more player choice I actually felt far less power to choose during this game. Many of the choices that weren't made for me were quite poorly explained.
I played Wyatt's chapter first and instantly ran into a bunch of problems. (Spoilers for this one short ten minute chapter). First of all, when having to choose who should leave the car I decided I would go. I made my...
Mirror's edge or Fallout 3.
Wow, this is a truly terrible article. I'm not just jumping to that conclusion after reading a headline I disagree with or anything, I read the article and it's absolutely awful. Even if you're just ironically playing the part of the hard to please, comicbook guy douche you're overdoing it. How long did you waste complaining that the trailer featured a female voiceover? Oh well, I guess it was worth it for your heeeee-larious line about how there's probably a lesbian or tw...
That's easy to say when it's not your ship they're hijacking but I doubt you'd be saying the same thing if it was your feet on the plank as a cutlass pokes you towards the choppy waters. Why don't you just get back to making your game and leave the maritime law to us.
My main... Well, only worry was that the game would look as grainy and messy as GTA4. Holy crap, if it looks anywhere near the way it looks on that video it's the cleanest, crispest looking game I've ever seen. The detail on characters etc is clearly current gen but the cleanness of the visuals and the detail available over a long distance is ridiculous. That one part where Franklin is walking down the street and you can see the skyscraper in the background is insane. It may not have ...
Troy Baker doesn't look talented, he looks like he plays bass for Nickleback or something, which makes me want to consider him talentless but I can't. The truth is that he's an incredible voice actor. I've never heard anybody in videogames or any form of animated work that was able to inhabit such a variety of characters so convincingly.
... and added to the next Mortal Kombat.
I didn't pick this up until a few months ago because I'm not at all a fan of the whole wizards and dragons fantasy thing either. I picked it up simple because I was loving the Game of thrones TV show, wanted to buy the game but my body physically wouldn't let me so I compromised and bought this instead. I am so glad I did. Aside from a few horrible sections such as the way too long solo jaunt through the fade the game is fantastic, I would say its actually better than Mass effect....
Damn, that's a shame. I mean considering how many people are gonna buy this game, to think only a lucky twelve of them will get to play online seems unfair.
I don't know which game in the series you're talking about or how far you got but I will say this. I played the original Half life at a friend's house and it was a fun shooter for its time and loved the opening of Half life 2 but pretty early into Half life 2 I kinda hated it. A chase sequence I thought was gonna last about ten minutes had lasted about an hour and I just wanted to quit, being used to games that jump between exciting cutscenes and set-piece gameplay.

How daaaaaare you. There are many comments I would make but I don't want to spend 8 years in prison so I will simply say you should play them.
I had to stop obeying the Dark brotherhood after one or two assignments because I'm too damned good. Their gear did become my main outfit though and they came in handy when I developed a nasty case of the vampirism and didnt want to put my mouth on a hobo's neck. I never even met them in Skyrim, I did a few things I would've thought might get their attention too but they just weren't interested. They obviously heard how my last guy just took the uniform home and stopped showin...
The only thing that worries me about this game is that it might look as messy as GTA4. It seems they have completely taken on board most of the criticisms people had about 4 but the one thing that always put me off 4 was how grainy and messy it looked.
I have no idea about tech stuff so I don't know if it was a lack of anti-aliasing or what but even though the world was incredibly detailed and amazingly atmospheric it just felt really messy. I remember one reviewer descri...
Ah, it feels rad to be one of those fresh faced youngsters of just 30 years old. These typical gamers are so out of touch, talking to me about the original model ZX Spectrum when I'm all like, 'Dude, that's way before my time. I played the redesigned ZX Spectrum with the floppy disc drive that came out five years later. Step off old man, your bogus vibes are harshing my buzz'. Those dudes will never understand people like me who are still young, and unmarried... and unemploye...
I disagree with this and not just in the sense that good companies try to maximise profit by treating customers well. Of course it is true that a company will always try to make the largest profit possible without betraying their mission statement but I do honestly think there are companies that consider their customer's experience as one of the most important parts of their mission statement.
Just look at all of the Indie game developers making interesting games like Jou...
Jesus, I thought you said easy. What is this? The days before free Internet porn?
IGN claimed in a preview that the game didn't look nearly as graphically impressive as it did in the trailers and instead just looked like 'GTA4 with an extra sheen' (if I remember correctly). Because of that I was overjoyed at the way it looked in that gameplay trailer. It doesn't look quite as good as the story trailers but it looks a lot cleaner and sharper than GTA4.
