I have to admit I already thought Dead space 2 was too much action and not survival horror enough. It was still a good game but nowhere near the dark claustrophobia of the first.

I see your point but look at it this way. A gamer convention is just a chance for people to get together and have a good time based around a mutual love of games. I've never understood the complaint that there is no pause button in Demon's/Dark souls. The enemies don't roam, if you need to pee or go do something else just leave your character standing in an empty spot. It's not like some wandering demon is going to find you and kill you, unless there is something hiding in the room that you hadn't noticed you'll be okay.

The walking dead is a contender for my game of the year but it's also been easily my worst experience as a consumer ever. Whenever I think about the handling of this game's release I get the exact same feeling I get thinking about the time I got mugged.

I don't think I'll even bother to download this. I've had this game for about a month now and love the campaign but after taking a loooong time finding enough multiplayer games to play to unlock Gang wars and Payne killer, I haven't been able to get into a single game on either of those modes. I would blame my connection but no other game has given Me these kinds of problems. I'm constantly just taken to an empty lobby where I sit until I get tired of waiting.

I enjoyed Skyrim but I do wish they had kept the branching quests they introduced in Fallout 3 rather than the thousands upon thousands of fetch and kill quests. Even if it meant far less missions it would have been better to stumble across a deep and complex situation you can examine and interact with anyway you want like the Arefu mission in Fallout 3, rather than running across yet another person who needs you to find some kind of artefact so they can further their own plot until they need...
I was a goody two shoes all the way through Skyrim but decided to become evil after saving the Universe and getting, 'Yeah, thanks' from one or two people and no acknowledgement at all from most. Well I actually decided to stop playing after that but if I go back to it it'll be for revenge.

Good editing (especially the Sheperd reaction shot after Jessica Chobot's introduction). Fucking PACKED with spoilers though so it's really only for people who've played the game. Maybe they got some insider info that the next GTA was going to release sometime late this year and knew it was suicide to go up against it. I mean... It's an idea, right?? Please? I appreciated Heavy rain for it's original take on gameplay but as far as story goes David Cage's work is not for adults. It's incredibly adolescent and cliche ridden. Beyond looks to be about the same. His writing is far closer to something like Twilight than something like 1984, being po faced and self consciously 'grown up' but in actuality having all the depth of a made for TV erotic thriller.
True games for adults are games like Braid, Papo & Yo, Journey ...
Lord help me I'm going to buy this at some point. I don't want it to happen but somewhere in my mind I just know it's going to. I never thought I'd be the dick who buys a shitty cash-in game just out of love of the franchise but with this one I might have to be.
You should still give it a try. It might have a few rough edges but it delivered exactly what I was looking for. It might not have the smoothest gameplay or most challenging puzzles but it's got a beautiful atmosphere and if you're not profoundly emotionally moved by the end of the game you're not human.

Just about every one of those games looks great to me when considering the time it was made. 'Dated' would be something you look back on and think, 'wow, how did we ever think there was anything good about this?' whereas most of those screenshots made me think, 'wow, it's quite impressive what they could do with such primitive hardware'.
