Except.. Not only did I cover Halo: Anniversary's engine that uses the original Halo engine for gameplay, and their new engine to render the graphics... But, here's something I left out because I wanted to see more people argue with assumptions.. The multiplayer uses Halo: Reach's engine.
Now here's some other insight about how stupid this argument is.
1. Graphical assets are ported all the time and it's easy. ...
@Septic
When Halo: Anniversary was made they used a new engine to render the graphics and kept the original engine for the actual gameplay.
And, again, maps can easily be ported to other engines, and like I said it's not like they are using the OLD game engines, so the newer engines, like the one they used for Halo: Anniversary's graphics, definitely can support maps from the other games. Now I'm not saying you simply just move it from one game t...
Different engines? It's just a map. It can easily be ported to other engines, and it's not like they are using the old game engines either..
Well, people are so far giving it positive reception and they decided to keep it available to purchase and play. So, this probably was a good mistake. 7 months is a long time for the studio to pull in some profits and good for building excitement for the full release. The studio head must be a perfectionist to not want to release an early access game that already is good enough, according to some of the steam reviews.
The mobile RPG's tend to be dreadfully bad, other than some of the classic RPG remakes, which is sad because a RPG just needs better story-telling and doesn't need as much focus on other areas. Time-travel RPG's were so popular when they became a thing on mobiles and man they made me cringe.
My favorite mobile company so far is Kairosoft. I love Game Dev Story, Grand Prix Story, and Ninja Village. Dungeon Village looks really interesting because you kind of help a...
I want both Sony and Nintendo to try and push having their portable consoles able to play multiplayer with their home consoles. If I have Dynasty Warriors on Vita I want to play with my friends on PS4, for example.
MineCraft as well shouldn't really have any excuse to not have cross-platform multiplayer. In a response to someone asking if he can play with his nephew on PS3 while he plays it on PS4 one of the developers said it is unlikely because of world size.. Which th...
Video games make coffee for your mind. All those late night game sessions.
@JBSleek
Of course it's childs play. You just aren't listening.. like a child..
The Last of Us with graphical improvements is running at 1080p/60fps, and that's when it was optimized for the Cell processor and a different RAM set up. With enough tweaking they could get The Last of Us from PS3 to run at this resolution and framerate, though the graphical improvements would likely be cut. And, don't think that having this resolution means a game...
Yea. And, even if the game can't do 1440p it can always go back to 1080p. I think the 1440p is mostly a "future-proofing" idea.
The unit is probably going to be priced at $200 or $250 and has enough room to upgrade the screen without changing the retail price and staying profitable. But, this is still just a rumor article anyways. But, I'm all for a long-term improvement. Hopefully some modders adapt software to use these on PC.
Because, Indie is about a studios independence, not their employee amount and gaming budgets.
Riot Games is technically independent, yet they currently have the worlds most popular game and about 1,000 employees. They don't rely on external publishing or have to answer to a parent company.
It's not "inevitable". If it were coming first to Playstation as a timed exclusive, Sony would have said "coming first to Playstation", like they always have on timed exclusives, and the competition has worded it like that as well. It is an "Exclusive console debut". It is a console exclusive, coming to one console, as well as PC, like it has been confirmed for a while.
Microsoft's indie department has been trying to get Hello Games' ...
@Illusive-Man
Only like 4 Bungie employees at most work for 343i and they have common roles, none are the more important figures from the company.
Halo wasn't getting stale from Bungie. It was getting stale, period. Halo 4 isn't even a true Halo game. It is a generic sequel where just after all the enemies are gone and Earth is safe, surpise! Another enemy bigger than ever before is here and coincidentally crosses paths with the lead character before ...
@awi5951
It's kind of a different thing when there are fresh ideas and an active story and lore rather than basically just a generic war story shooter that doesn't have much variety in gameplay.
If Uncharted sequels kept being almost complete rehashes then yea it would be milking, but when they actually put out worthy sequels it's different.
It's like Halo 4. It is filled with plotholes, after Halo 3 finished things off they s...
@KwietStorm
What's wrong with what he said?
The console is compact enough to have its own laptop version. If I had the funds I would build my own PS4 laptop.
Slim versions will make absolutely awesome mod opportunities.
@Jordan_2_Delta
It sounds like you have no argument.
The game was in development for under three years by a new studio, and would have come out sooner if X1 needed more launch titles. The game itself has low amounts of content, repetitive gameplay, and is not graphical advanced whatsoever. Now that they have an engine and assets they are likely going to start doing the same as they did when they worked on Call of Duty and rehash games every year or two that ...
Not from the gaming industry, but from the bigger titles. I could see myself doing the same after working on bigger titles.
COW? :D
Idk. I didn't particularly like GeOW but the first one was nice because it was a first real next-gen cover system gritty shooter. The next ones got kind of stale though, for me anyways.
I'm glad he took some time off though instead of trying to push out more of the same again and again every year or so. Hopefully he has some ideas and projects in mind.
@Jordan_2_Delta
Lol. No.
Those 16 huge maps consist of much of the same objects but with a different layout, and are easy to design.
A proper single-player campaign covers much more area than those 16 huge maps, cinematic cutscenes that require several animators and even mocap, a lot of voice acting for several emotions, several hours into the objects and variants, physics engines, designing every area to look beautiful at every angle, optimi...
Lol. That's complete hypocrisy.
"they are a failing company with one successful business unit".
Uh, Sony's movie divisions, music, insurance(in Japan), and obviously PlayStation are profiting successes.
Microsoft on the other hand is in the same position, except I'm not aware of any of their profiting divisions other than Windows, which continues to lose market share because of their lack of respect and failing to delive...
