"...I like feeling that I have skill in the game” said Romero and continued.

How about feeling like acquiring some skill to design a good game?

“I do realise that a lot of the movement in new shooters is directly attributable to the console controller because you can’t play well and fast with them so they had to come up with some design to make it so the player can do something else if they can’t skillfully move quickly. I am still partial to Butcher Bay since it not only was one of the best games last gen, but it also has passed the test of time.

But ultimately one or the other, it doesn't matter. I am just glad both are not a carbon copy of the other and because of that we have two great games.

Cheers

Good for them and for us. More developers should follow their ideas and stop worrying about what is going to sell. A lot of games that sell, and become famous, end up being ideas that nobody wanted to begin with. Even Activision didn't want to do Modern Warfare because they thought nobody would buy it.

By the way Rocksteady Batman is not based on a movie and it is not a fact that it is better than Butcher Bay.

Just saying

Cheers

Regardless of which one you prefer, the fact is that if the Yakuza games had the Rockstar logo in front of the box, chances are is would have sold millions. See L.A. Noir for proof. And Yakuza ain't no cheap game like L.A. Noir is.

The fact is that the Yakuza series is one of the best series of the last and present generation. It gives you a whole lotta gameplay for the asking prize and it is not plagued by crappy garbage cheap a$$ DLCs every week.

It is ...

By the way I just tried this with Fallout 3 GOTY on the PS3 and it actually worked, it cleared the godawful lag. Just disable the 3 autosaves options in the settings.

Also apparently if you hit start and the save and load options are grayed out for a second or two, you have to let the game "install" itself in the background while the game is paused (last maybe 30 minutes or so?), so go read a book.

It really help with the unplayable state that it ...

I will add:

Sega Saturn:
Panzer Dragoon - although it was a Rail shooter, it shows what 3D was all about, plus the art style and maniac pace makes it still an excellent game.

Sega Dreamcast:
Soulcalibur - The first game, that i remember, that makes the arcade version looks old. Add the smooth as butter control, bunch of un-lockable and you still have one of the best fighting games even made.

Sega Genesis:
Golden Axe or...

The thing with something like the pendant is that it is a secret. If it was something that was needed to finish the game then you might have a point. But then again, back in the Adventure era (Monkey Island, King Quest,Gabriel Knight, etc) you HAVE to decipher the clue/puzzle to advance at all.

Dark/Demon Souls are made painstakingly to perfection, not that they are perfect, but they do what they do better than any other game this side of Zelda. It is meant to have its secre...

It's ok if you enjoyed it, I mean to each their own, and I respect that. But did you even tried Red Johnson Chronicles? Or the plethora of Adventure games in the history of the game industry for that matter?

I concede to you that if we lived in a vacuum, then this game certainly could be consider good enough. But we don't, and it isn't.

Good luck to the team, and good riddance with the rest. If this is what we have to look forward to, with the adventure genre, then this was a blessing.

This is a horrible adventure game, the biggest waste of $60 I have spent in a while. Red Johnson Chronicles (PSN) does the whole detective thing better, and for less than half the price. Support the small title with actual puzzles, actual clues, actual memory test and ironically enough friendlier to casual and veteran gamers a...

I agree with you on this one. In games like these, SP def is not the focus. And quite frankly it would be ok, if they could give us the extras like the MODs and map editor, and servers and all that good stuff. Not to mention the free DLC, as you pointed out.

And I think if they really add all that and pack it with a ton of content and maps and weapons, customization for your character, weapon, tanks, planes etc. on they one. Then, just like you say, it would definitively be ...

Agree and disagree. Half-Life series, Riddick Escape from butcher bay, The Darkness, and many other have proves that first person shooters can definitively have great stories.

But if developers have no desire to make a great single player experience, and want to work on just the MP side, then so be it. Axe the single player, and boost the multiplayer, with more maps, more futures, more variety in missions and so on.

As it is right now the single player is ju...

Seen a few of these single player reviews for this game. Now we are making concessions to mediocrity...*sight*

Next in line, Modern Warfare 3.

If the multiplayer is where is at, then the developers should slash the price in half and sell it for what it is. But why would they do that, when people keep gobbling up these type of games every year.
