Oh, N4G community, you never cease to amuse.
Hooray, let's compare two games that absolutely no one cares about so we can further fuel the fires of the console war.
It's a fair question, especially since I admittedly haven't played it that much.
But I did Gamefly it - I Gamefly most games I play, because most modern games aren't worth $60 - so I can just send it back when it gets boring.
I've been having a lot of fun playing it, so I can't really agree with this review.
Sorry, but blowing crap up in a sandbox environment is fun, and I won't be convinced otherwise.
Yup, it's tied as my all time favorite game ever.
I hope it runs good in Windows now. It's always had trouble in the past.
"Will the 360 price cut make a difference?"
"Why the price cut will save the 360."
"Why the 360 price cut doesn't matter."
"Will the 360 price cut change anything?"
Rinse and repeat for the next week.
This is horrifying.
Don't talk to me like I'm a 360 fanboy. I've never said anything about how Live is greater than PSN so don't put arguments into my mouth. I've never used the PSN, so I'm not going to comment one way or the other on which is better.
You said "There are games already that require the hard drive or are limited by a lack of hard drive", but I can only think of one that REQUIRES a hard drive (FF XI) and one for which it is hightly recommended (Burnout).
The...
The $200 price point isn't about people who make enough money to afford either the 360 or the PS3 if they just "wait another week."
It's about parents looking for the least expensive game system to get their kids for Christmas or a birthday.
Name one 360 game that isn't an MMO and requires the hard drive.
@Below:
I can play Burnout offline without a HD. Yeah, I may not get the full game experience, but I said *requires*.
Dear Lord, you people can be so childish.
Should I yell at Kojima for not being "equal" and making MGS4 for the 360?
Source?
No, I'm just kidding, I know you made that up and don't actually have any basis for that statement beyond "I HATE THE 360".
My console can beat up your console.
Keep words like "XBot" in the other zone, thanks.
So what? If they want to bring over their songs, buy a hard drive.
Though I've always thought a HD-less SKU was a mistake, that's no reason to crap on this. It's a classy move from Harmonix, and I hope more companies follow suit.
"The game ran smoothly on my admittedly high-end system, and it was rock-solid stable, never crashing. I can't even think of a single bug."
This is refreshing to hear at least, given the modern game development disease known as "Patch it Later" syndrome.
I just saw this myself at PAX a couple of hours ago.
It looks just fine on the 360 - the Source engine has aged quite well.
Why was the portion of this article quoted ONLY about the graphics? Because the intent of this article is clearly to help flame the anti-360 circle-jerk this site has become.
My online service can beat up your online service.
Please move this crap to the Open Zone.
Not really a diss, it's just a profit-based decision from the developers.
If the cost of the 360 patch is greater than the likely profits from the patch, then the patch won't be made.
Likely the same reason PS3 games don't retroactively add trophies, 360 Eternal Sonata won't have the PS3 enhancements, etc. It's not a "diss". It's business.
