Well, one big thing to consider:

Reviews are done by one or two people at most, GOTY is chosen by the entire staff. There are likely people on staff who do not believe GTA 4 or MGS4 are a worth a perfect 10, while Fallout 3 is.

Having the best graphics has never, ever decided the winner in a console war.

The PS2 was outclassed, technically, by both the Gamecube and XBox, but it didn't matter, because that is where developers took their games, and so that's where the gamers went, and Nintendo and Microsoft rightfully got creamed.

Most gamers will follow the games, and could care less which console they run on. Some people will always want TEH BESTZ!!!!, but most just want to have fun. You ...

People like you absolutely terrify me. You have absolutely no idea how business works if you think Microsoft "cheated" by coming out a year early. It's not a race where everyone tries to be fair, and it boggles my mind that anyone would think otherwise.

That's what competition is. Welcome to the real world.

And a lot of game sites said that MGS4 was coming to the 360...what's your point?

Also, why is almost everyone in this thread obsessed with the next GTA being a PS3 exclusive? Are there any 360 owners even left in this place? Heh.

I'm not sure it's GTA3 with LESS features - what was it missing that GTA3 had?

It was about par with Vice City, feature-wise. VC had a few more features, and is still my favorite of the franchise. San Andreas was vast and awesome, but I just couldn't get into it as much.

I think GTA needs to move a bit away from realism and more towards a the silly we saw in Vice City and San Andreas. The series is most fun when it's tongue-in-cheek. They also need to throw out r...

Yeah, Rockstar has a lot of developers - and I imagine only a small subset of them are actually working on the DLC.

Most development houses usually work on 2 or 3 projects at once, and the DLC shouldn't take more than a small team to handle. Which may be why it's taking so long to actually come out. After I got Saint's Row 2 for Christmas, I'm not sure I really care about the GTA4 DLC.

I appreciate you giving me the time for a legitimate, well-thought out response. I will keep mine short, as I hate to hijack this thread any more than I have.

I admit I forgot two exclusives I'd probably play. Resistance, I would rent. Valkyrie Chronicles, I would buy. These are still not quite enough to justify an entire new console purchase, in my mind.

I didn't buy a 360 until there were enough games I wanted to play for it that were able to justify the price. ...

Yeah, I was about to say, Gamefly is awesome for the "broke gamer", whether you are just renting from them or use them to buy games at a nice discount.

Okay, I hate to re-post something I said in an earlier article, but I'm so sick of the "People who don't want a PS3 are just too poor to get one" argument I can't stop myself.

I already own a 360, and plan to get a PS3 either when it's cheaper, or when I view its value to be that of its price. Knowing that - convince me why I should be getting one *today*. And yes, I can easily afford it, so money is not one of my reasons.

As I said, I already have a 360,...

Alright, I'll use my last bubble and bite. How is it worth it - to me?

I already have a 360, so I wouldn't re-buy any multiplatform games I already have for it. Strike one.

I only know 2 people who own a PS3. Neither of them play online. I know significantly more who own 360's, a majority of whom play online. So that means all future multiplatform games that I'd want to play multiplayer on would be purchased for the 360. Strike two.

Blu-ray is gorg...

I've attacked people for attacking the PS3 or Sony, too, when they're in the same comment threads I'm in and cross the "Gamer Zone" line. Yeah, I do defend the 360 quite a bit more than the PS3, but then, the comment section of N4G is pretty heavily Sony-biased these days, and a lot of people here obviously speak from ignorance, having never owned a 360 before. I don't actually go through every article looking for "violation posts", but when I see things that rub me the ...

The accuracy of your post does not magically make it on topic. This article has absolutely nothing to do with Microsoft or the 360. You inserted it into the conversation because you felt the need to attack the company for some reason. I don't really care if people attack Microsoft - they often deserve it - but a thread which has nothing to do with the 360 is NOT the place for it.

Also, I'm not talking about the articles that get approved on N4G - there are trash articles const...

Oh, I have no problem with an earlier demo for those who pre-order. I just think it'd be best for both technical and customer service reasons if Sony released it a week before rather than a day before. People who pre-order can still get it however early Sony deems fit.

6242d ago 1 agree2 disagreeView comment

You know what? No.

Not only is crap like "M$" just as bad as "Xbots" or "Sony droids" in the Gamer Zone, but your post is completely off-topic and bashes Microsoft needlessly in a comment thread that has absolutely nothing to do with the 360 or Microsoft.

Why don't people like you stick to the Open Zone where this crap is expected and maybe even welcome? Stop helping ruin N4G for those of us who actually want to discuss gaming news wit...

Man, I love the Gears of War series, but Cliff Bleszinski is a ridiculous tool based on that quote. And, well, I guess anything and everything else he's ever said or done, for the most part.

"And what if you don’t pre-order “Killzone 2″ but want to try the demo? It’s slated for release as a download from the PlayStation Network on PS3 for Thursday, February 26, a day before the game’s official release date."

This is a bad idea, but not for the reasons you might expect.

I imagine the PSN will be incredibly bogged down on the 26th - as would any computer network - by the sheer number of people trying to download the demo before Friday. If it cam...

It's not a crazy theory at all. In fact, that's basically how N4G rolls these days. One of the big reasons I don't really comment all that much anymore.

Still, I can and (obviously) will mock them for it.

I'm not even comparing PSN to Live in this case, just explaining to Captain First Poster that the PS3's popularity has little to do with the point of this article.

I agree that it's silly to harp on Sony, since they weren't really THAT misleading. It is common in this industry to make impressive/true sounding statements that are less impressive upon closer examination - everyone does it. To people who don't understand that PSN or XBL accounts can be created without a console, i...

Seriously, dude, read the article before commenting.

This was about how Sony counts people who register on their website to just to post on the forums, as well as PSP owners who may not be PS3 owners.

For instance, I have a PSN account, but not a PS3. I am certain I am not alone.

Please refrain from posting random pro-Sony (or for that matter, pro-ANYONE), crap that has little relevance to the article in the future, eh?

6243d ago 19 agree18 disagreeView comment

I agree.

Here's another way to look at it:

XBL is $4.15 a month. World of Warcraft - a SINGLE GAME - is $15 a month. Yet millions of people play WoW despite the fact there are free alternatives. Why? Because it's that much better than those. At least, I imagine so. I can't stand WoW - or MMOs in general - myself, but if 11 million people pay for it, there's probably a reason.
