Probably work it Vista, and the xbox 360. The thing is the HD-DVD drive relies heavily on the Xenos GPU and the 3 core processor. You need a heavy computer to decompress and decode 1080p on the fly and spit it on the monitor.

Well you bought a standard PC drive. The xbox 360 uses the smaller 2.5 Inch notebook harddrives which cost way more.

No real excuss for the ps3 running at 30 FPS since Call of Duty 2 for the xbox 360 at launch also ran at 60FPS. This is unless the ps3 is trying to do 1080p, which I doubt because the journalist would have obviously stated that.
Microsoft already has the new drives out, that have the debugger removed and a thick layer of epoxy on the dvd rom firmware chip. Lets see people rip out that mother now.
Also the only use for the mod is to play burned games. As they said the disc are hard to burn and requires a pretty good knowledge in extracting the files and then burn them using 1 specific burner and hot swapping the disc. Conclusion: not pratical and no longer even possible with the new xbox 360 that are so...

Its a opinion from a journalist. Not really from Ubisoft. The journalist got to see both versions and they noticed the x360 version looked better. No surprise since Ubisoft has made quite a few games to for xbox 360 so they know how it runs.
Those are the Japanese games that do 1080p. I wonder how the other developers are doing.

Actually the Xenos has some capabilities that are beyond direct X 10 since as memory export which can do stream out. So crysis can be done on the consoles but the texture size will have to be worked on. Maybe even cut the drawdistance a bit aswell.
It's either a Europe launch in March with limited number of consoles or delay. Microsoft made a huge gain in North America which is the biggest market. If sony has a poor install base in North America then those developers would simply stop developing games for the ps3, which in turn would have the european devs pull back since North Americians and Europians have similar tastes in games.
