I was sold on the demo. A demo release about 1 year before the actual game and that demo still beats some of the released games now visually.

Ya, it should. Dead rising sold 500 000 in 2 weeks and that was when the xbox 360 install base was around 5 million. By the time Lost Planet shows up it should be past 10 million.
I think some of the main reason this game got pushed back, along with some other MGS games was that they were releasing too much first party titles in 1 same period. They already have Gears of War and Viva Pinata. So it would be smart to shift Forza 2, Fuzion Frenzy 2, Crack Down, Shadowrun to first half 2007. And then save Mass effect, Too Human, Halo 3 and other unannounced games for the later half.
Very smart move by bestbuy. So the hours in the cold can get you, your very own copy of Gears of War for free. I would have done it if I didn't have my xbox 360.
I would have thought the ps3 version would have won because it had 1 year more of dev time and it was also rr7 asopposed to the xbox 360s rr6.

I agree that sony just can't screw around anymore. In the past sonys competition wasn't really much going against small companies like Sega and Nintendo. One slip up and microsoft could walk over them.
