I want a 3DS retail version. That was one of the main selling points of the DS family for me, old-school style 2D games on carts.
Halo meets Metroid.
Mildly ironic that the picture for this article is from Predator, the most masculine movie ever made, and the article is about video games, which probably emasculate you.
My 3rd party wish list:
Halo 3DS
Metal Gear Solid 3DS
Battlefield 3DS
Games for guys who watch Predator regularly, like I did just last week.
High quality Looney Tunes game. That is like solid gold.
The fact that 20 years after those game came out I'm still valuing video games over those other lame activities you mentioned proves that they changed at least one life.
In a private screening for the press it got a standing ovation. I'd say that's knowing something about it dumbass
Some games changed your life if you were able to play them when they 1st came out. Pitfall on Atari 2600. Super Mario Bros on NES. Tetris on Game Boy. Sonic the Hedgehog on Genesis. Terminator 2 pinball. X-Men: The Arcade Game. Doom on PC. Metal Gear Solid on PS1. Halo on Xbox.
This game will change your life.
It's almost like Nintendo said to themselves, "Wii U sales have never lived up to expectations. Let's no longer fight for it. Let's just kill sales completely."
Why, why on Earth, if you're not going to release a new console until the end of 2016 at the earliest, would you, at the beginning of 2015, announce A.) you're going to release that new console at the end of 2016, and B.) you're going to delay the 1 game that EVERYone is waiting to p...
What is the big draw of this game? Unlicensed LEGO character toys? Those have been around forever. So have video games with LEGO characters.
There's also the small issue of developing brain rumors from strapping large, radiation emitting electronics to your skull for extended periods of time.
WTF has gotten into this game? At 1st all I saw was negative reviews. Now, I hear it's the 1st 3DS game to run on the vaunted 'Unity' engine and now it gets a very respectable 7 out of 10. This means something to me because I'm a guy who loves licenses, and there hasn't been a Spongebob game on DS or 3DS that really grabbed me. This one may yet
The way 3DS, or Vita, or any other portable gaming console can defeat mobile is to attack the two areas where mobile is strongest, 1st, and most importantly, is to make it a social experience. Nintendo had a brilliant marketing plan for Smash Bros. on 3DS. The slogan was "Settle it in Smash", meaning settle the battle of who's best between your friends and family inside the game. As a result, in just a couple months, Smash Bros. 3DS has sold around 2 million copies in the US...
4 years and 1 month. That's how long ago I first saw the 'Rodea the Sky Soldier' debut trailer. I fell in love with it instantly. How it was created by Yuji Naka, how it looked bright & beautiful like the old Sonic games that Yuji created, and the exhilarating feeling of flying through the air that no other handheld game could match.
For 4 long years I've waited for this game. I routinely looked up information about the game's development. I even ...
Why don't today's kids love Sonic? Tell me ONE thing about today's kids that isn't horribly awful. Ok, the girls are hotter, true. But aside from that. Exactly. Kids today are villainous dictators. I'm not saying that when we were kids in the 90s during Sonic's hay day we were saints. Hell, we jammed to Nirvana.
There's just one major thing that separates kids today from us: they have a voice in society that they didn't have to earn. Th...
As a North American 3DS owner I'm still stunned at the amount of content from the Nintendo Direct.
- New 3DS release date
- 2 special editions of New 3DS
- 6 new RETAIL games (not crummy little eShop games)
- Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX
- Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy +
- Puzzle & Dragons Super Mario Bros.
- Fire Emblem
- Xenoblade Chronicles
- Foss...
And yet he wasn't a playable character in Playstation's mascot crossover fighting game, All-Stars Battle Royale. Business decisions that make sense, ya!
3DS had its biggest month of 1st-part software sales ever, as well. Yet major 3rd parties like EA and Ubisoft continue to shy away from it. Do you think it's more likely that the system is setup to fail or that the shovelware that 3rd parties tend to enter into the system is setup to fail?
I'm hoping that was a hint that several Amiibo will be restocked.
There has been nothing announced for 3DS/New 3DS past spring. So E3 should be pretty freakin exciting for us handheld owners.
NX is a handheld.
In 2014, Nintendo struck a deal for brand new "free-form LCD screen" technology. That means you could have a screen shaped like Mario's head as opposed to the now standard 4-corners display. Sharp, the company who made the 3DS screen, was contracted to begin production of these screens in early 2016. See how it all pieces together?
