Well Iphones, Galaxies and Ipads are selling like crazy. At premium prices that is. The problem of the consoles is the fact that they are going into their 7th and 8th year, they sold almost ~140 mil and market is oversaturated. Everybody who wanted them, already bought them.

Definitely. 360 sold 40% less than May 2011, but it still maintained 45% market share this month which leads me to believe all the hardware is on decline and who wanted HD console already has PS360.
Thats why you see executives talking about next gen consoles like they are just going to announce it. Market is falling down, and we need new hardware to move it.

I HONESTLY think that Sony and especially MS, trying to make their consoles media hubs too is good thing. Think about it, you have EVERYTHING on your machine. Online, movies, music, social networking. phone tablet syncing, kids stuff and in the end ALOT of games.
Just because they go for media at the end of this gen doesn't mean there won't be any games. 1st party wont suddenly disappear, 3rd party especially.

Watch Dogs and 1313 were obviously the most impressive since they kinda target next gen. MOH, Crysis 3, LOU, H4, GOWA, Beyond and Forza were amazing though. Oh, and AC3 looked damn pretty, especially for open world game.
MS 2009 was great conference. 2010 was also better than this Nintendos, although 2011 and 2012 were crap.
Sony 2005 was good conference, 2006 was crap.
Thats tech demo of new Square Enix engine, for next gen of course. They had presentation, its somewhere on youtube.
They talked about engine tools and simplicity of development. Engine is synced with Maya, and you can change assets on fly from there. It will speed development and bring cost of them down, exactly what Japan needs.

Before even discussing? Not sure if you are serious. Everyone knows new consoles are coming next E3. Look at 1313, Watch Dogs and newest engines from Epic and Square Enix. They know its coming and they are gearing up. 1st party studios, GG, SSM and MS Vancouver have been hiring stuff for next gen for a year now.
If they don't even think about discussing it like you said, they are better without gaming than because it will be far to late. No body is going to wait for any...
PS360 are at the end of their lifecycle. Next E3 is next gen showtime so it was expected. Still...We will have some crazy good games for the end of cycle. LOU, Beyond, H4, AC3, GTAV etc.
Who REALLY dropped the ball was Nintendo. New system, second time showing, second time flopping. I'm sorry, but this was their chance. Next time they are going to get battered by nextbox and PS4.

Ubisoft was comfortably the best. AC3, FC3 and Rayman were amazing. And WDs was the highlight of the entire E3. Just amazing.
