Hm. They're not released until Spring 2010. haha.

@ MisterNiwa: It was for a really long time. There's still a demographics skew towards men in gaming, and many women hide the fact that they're women because there are a lot of problems to admitting it in the online gaming communities.

Oh, and @ phosphor112: I sometimes announce it to hopefully make guys stop making annoying comments about things like tits and porn stars while we're playing. They're more likely to shut up about the girls they want to bang if they know there's an ...

Well, yes and no. There are some differences in what's given to third party versus first and second. I didn't realize it was a "secret," though. I mean, isn't it obvious that Sony would keep some of their best new stuff for themselves, and then slowly filter it towards the third party devs? I wouldn't expect Nintendo or MS to give away their best tech to third parties (until they've used them, had a chance to work on them, etc).

The problem is that MS has had several games now that have been "exclusive" until they were available on the other platform in a year, and DLC that was "exclusive" until six months later it's announced for PS3. The PS3 "exclusives" tend to get non-exclusived before they come out at all.

I just don't trust 360 developers (other than ones specifically owned by MS, because Halo for PS3 would just be ridiculous) when they say that. It might lead to me mi...

I've always found emotional immersiveness to be greater in MGS... I just don't care much about the characters in SC compared to MGS. And if I'm not emotionally involved, I'm not really immersed, I'm just playing a game. Don't get me wrong, SC is a great game with a decent story, and I really tend to enjoy it, but I wouldn't use the word "immersive."

So, um... MS: Rumble is so last-gen?

Why is it at all amazing that older titles can be patched to use a new control scheme? Patches are pretty standard on the 360, and it's not like he said there was some kind of automatic way for devs to get it done or anything...

Wow, that looked awesome! (Mind you, I'm a bit partial to SC games anyways.)

I wonder if this will be another 6-12 month "exclusive" or if I'll actually have to get a 360 for it...

Does anyone really believe Molyneaux when he talks about something anymore? The emperor of hype never brings anything near as cool as what he talks about...

Hm. Hope it's not exclusive. I'll probably buy it if it's multiplat, but... frankly, I'm one of the very few people that was kind of disappointed at MGS4 (in retrospect; my first playthrough was awesome, but it just didn't have the awesomeness that was the first three games for me to stick around and be awed by in-jokes and in-game extra codec sequences-- actually, the lack of codec was a big reason I wasn't having fun), so I won't buy a 360 for this like I bought a PS3 for MGS4 or a Gamecube...

Deterrent? What GTA are you playing? Half the fun is getting the cops on your tail and then blowing up their cars!

Either you have qualms about the destruction of pixels on screen or you don't. If you do, there's a lot more to worry about than just games based on recent events-- games based on a war with attempted genocide should be off limits, too.

Huh... Yeah, I'd play an "escape from the tower" game. That actually sounds surprisingly fun.

"Remember when being a gamer meant something?"

Why, no, author. I have been gaming for 20 years-- hoshit I'm old!-- and I cannot remember being a gamer ever having "meant something" beyond the fact that I saved up money for video games instead of music and movies and comics and books. (Well, okay, I probably would have saved up for books too except that those were "free" because my parents felt they were worthwhile compared to shooting line-drawn tan...

Nah. Kids still killed themselves back then. The only difference is that now we're blaming it on video games instead of real life problems. This kid probably had a lot of real life issues beyond his gaming addiction.

I hope it's really good. I wonder if this one will end up on PS3, too... I have really liked the games, but SC's never been the game to make me spend hundreds of dollars... the characters never really excite me enough. Although, the gameplay is just top notch.

I think they've convinced me about why it's better that these guys didn't go licensed, but... I'm so going to be pretending to play a black kid when I'm doing the hero thing...

They aren't going down because of consoles. The guys who could go down because of consoles are pretty much guys like Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, Sega, Atari... and they're still around. Apple went bankrupt over consoles? What are you talking about? Apple was close to insolvency because of their computers and because of the Newton and because of their horrible ad campaign and because of back room politics, not because of the Apple-Bandai Pippin. (Note that Bandai is also still around, even thou...

Oh, that lineup ad's just awful!

I love those two guys, even when Mac is doing the smarmy smirk. Not particularly pointing out great flaws in the PC ads, mind you, but still great fun, and brilliant ads.

So... Were these guys more patent squatters, or legit?

The whole "stealing someone's anti-piracy work" is too damned funny, either way. I guess everyone really does lose with DRM! :D (Well, except pirates, of course, because they just circumvent it.)
