it has nothing to do with hd space, its all about PR, everyone was crying about how terrible it looked on console, because they saw the pc version and thought it would somehow look close to that even though no console game ever looks close to a maxed out AAA pc release from the last few years.
The "High res texture pack" is a marketing gimmick to trick you, yet again into thinking somehow your six year old console will look as good as a 3 year old pc, it will not! ...
the settings are still very bare bones, AA, AF, Resolution, V-sync and shaders, thats it......
The game runs perfect and looks ok, much , much better than the console version, but is nothing compared to games like the witcher 2.
The gameplay itself is a 7/10 at best imo!
The games already look sub-hd/low res and have too many jaggies on console without 3d, then when you add it in the visuals just degrade further!
The only place 3d looks good is on pc, and there are way more games (over 500) available in 3d and it does not downgrade the visuals but the glasses are far too annoying!
I thought dragon age origins was too dumbed down, it was an ok rpg lite, kind of a "fisher-price my first rpg".
DA2 is not even an rpg, it's an action game with a pause option.
Biowares best game by FAR is Baldurs Gate 2 Shadow of Amn and the expansion, everything they have done since has been less and less and less and less!

resistance 3 and killzone 3 were both huge letdowns for me, I thought kilzone 2 was a far, far better game, and resistance has been losing steam since the first.

95% of modern games support a controller, if you are smart enough to connect an xbox to a tv, you can do the same with a pc (hdmi), hard drives on pc's are super cheap and are measured in terabytes now,

.....or play it in a WAY higher resolution with better anti aliasing, better performance, way better controls and draw distance with a $75 graphics card in a mid range desktop!
The console version should really only be considered a last resort if you just don't own a pc from the last 4 years (i.e. you have a beige one...lol) or you just hate computers even though a console is just a computer with a really bad case!
just played caspian maxed out on pc for about an hour and a half....EPIC MAP
32v32 greatness, the jets are a blast, but i love driving the growler, (basically a golf cart with a machine gun that goes like 70 mph) and capping some points!

Graphics on caspian moving up a hill into the sunlight with everything clicking just right at 60 beautiful frames, man....what a game....time to go back!
uncharted 2 and 3 look about the same from everything I have seen, this sand level really does not showcase much at all. After being in the Uncharted 3 beta, I can say everything in part 2 handled better, I am sure they will improve it, but graphically they look almost identical.
The blood streaks are annoying!

the jaggies are really bad on the console versions, other than that they look great. The pc also has better textures in general and much smoother, but still, not as bad as the pc/console difference between some games!
When next gen drops they need to make 100% sure all games use at least, AT LEAST 4x anti aliasing, preferably 8x!

pc version on low-medium in 1024x720 is what it looks like to me
The pc version in real 1080p even at medium low settings rocks the console version!
Turn a few things up to high and add 4x AA and the console version is left almost a gen behind!
Go DX10 at 1920x1080p 16x anti with everything very high and add a modd or two and you are seeing something like this;

The PC version is the one the game was DEVELOPED on like all games!
There is NEVER EVER a port to pc, only a port FROM pc to console, as all games are made on pc!

I'm fine with this, I understand many are not, for a game like stalker 2, if it is anything like the first 3 (they were some of the most AMAZING fps experiences I have had), I will be ok with this.
My pc is always online, (that's kind of what it's for) and I have a great connection, If I did not, I would not buy the game. I have a feeling it will be a check and then let you be offline. Or after the initial month of launch dates it will be removed in a patch.
