I hate timed demos and I'll probably hate this even more.
It sounds like a good idea for a game though. There's some kind of countdown, and as time passes, your powers get weaker. You must save the world (complete the mission? Whatever) before your powers run out.
Built-in difficulty curve. Though usually it's more fun to become more powerful as the game progresses, but it's still a cool (if difficult) concept.
Having never gotten into the franchise before, I like the new direction. It seems like Sam has more personality now, mainly because there's not something always covering his face and his mission is a personal one.
I know the hardcore aren't fans of it, especially the more casual gameplay, but I think it looks awesome and a lot less dull than it used to be. That said, if you have a character, you really shouldn't be constantly changing him if you want the audience to suspend disbe...
Am I the only one who sees the irony in writing 20:00 "PM"?
At least it's not in the title anymore.
I didn't know it could do that!! GOTY!
It Only Does Everything. EVERYTHING!
;-)
They've completely changed their AA since the E3 demo. The demo WAS MSAA 2x, I believe.
Quote from the same person on the same forums:
"off the top of my head, features added since E3 include: -anti-aliasing on the cpu - looks much better then the 2x at E3."
Just wanted to clear that up. The demo is not representative of this technology.
If true, that's a lot cheaper than I expected them to charge for it. Still not cheap, but a lot more reasonable than the $80 they expected me to pay for 20GB.
Easily my biggest frustration when I got a 360, knowing I was getting ripped off and not being able to do anything about it. I did buy a used HDD, but the savings weren't spectacular.
That's a much better skin than the one I get with my GameStop preorder. But I also got a poster and can pick it up at midnight, so it's probably worth it.
Motorstorm 3?
I'm betting it's not a huge announcement. They'll save those for GDC and E3.
I never said wikipedia is always wrong. You can verify the information by using the sources at the bottom.
But surely you can't believe that wikipedia is a more reliable source than the company itself, can you? Sony specifically said in their press release that they have 15 first party studios. Wikipedia will never be a better source than the horse's mouth.
That's true, many studios have more than one team working on different projects, but they are still the same co...

-- Do you realize you just argued with SONY using wikipedia as a source? Does that make sense to you? Sony has 15 first party studios.

Oh I didn't mean to imply that 15 is small by any means. 15 is a good number of first party studios, for sure. But it's 6 less than 21 - that's a pretty...
"20 first party studios
Correction 21, lol "
"Sony Computer Entertainment World Wide Studios current consists of 17 first party developers,"
- According to this very link, SCE WWS has only 15 studios. So either some of their previous studios went under, or you both are just spreading false information. Either way, you really should read the article next time.

I wouldn't be surprised if Reach's character models look better than Killzone 2's. Reach does have some impressive character models. BUT Killzone 2's character models are easily it's weakest department. I'll probably get a lot of disagrees (from both sides), but that's how I see it.
The big differences I notice between Killzone 2 and Reach are:
Lighting
Gun models
Textures
Atmosphere (Particle effects)
Environments
Killzone 2 is the bett...
Can I tell the difference? Yes. Does make much of a difference to me? No.
I'd definitely rather have a game locked at 30 fps than one locked at 60 fps simply because the graphics tradeoff is much larger than the difference between framerates. This is on consoles, of course, since there is a limited amount of power. A PC doesn't really have to make any tradeoff if it's powerful enough.
Umm, the PS1 CG looks much better than that PS2 screenshot you posted, I have no idea why you'd think otherwise.
Starchild, have you seen the GameTrailer footage? I ask because I had basically the same impression until I saw that footage. Screenshots do not do this game justice.
Once you see the new build in motion, you'll understand the hype. Especially when scale is factored in. It really does look stunning.
"always compare the new games of this generation with CG graphics of this generation."
Why? CG always has hours upon hours to render a scene. Consoles...
I love DVR. I can watch it over and over again in HD on my 46" TV. =)

He's right though, this is an awesome year to be a gamer, no matter which console(s) you own.
Personal preference will obviously dictate which console you spend the most time on, but that doesn't mean the other fans aren't equally happy.
The year just started and I'm already behind on all the games...
Well perhaps she had to resort to this because she will no longer be in those movies...
Kirsten Dunst is MJ no more.
If anyone would be willing to translate all of it, or at least the closing notes, I'm sure a lot of people would really appreciate it. :)
First of all, no one has called this the end all, be all of gaming in any serious context, so don't push that as some sort of popular opinion. But it is going to be awesome and EPIC, just like the two before it. A lot of these people have a real love for gaming, and God of War III is exactly what they want.
"For me, it will be like UC2, a fantastic game that I played through and haven't touched since then. "
Cool, you have an opinion. We do too. I, for one,...
