While I'm sure the game will be great, nothing mentioned in the article hasn't already been done before. Uncharted 2 is the most obvious example, and it's far more "realistic" looking than L.A. Noire.

I don't mind talking about the technology, it's really a well written piece and would otherwise be good journalism. But the fact that they're not just pretending this is groundbreaking, but insinuating that it's leaps and bounds above anythi...

Even though he's trolling, he's still promoting a great game. Lose-lose situation there.

Troll fail.

Most of Uncharted's cutscenes are prerendered, Naughty Dog has said this several times (including a few days ago on the PSBlog). This means they are pre-recorded video files, which let's them load the next section of the game while you watch the cutscene.

BUT they are rendered with the game engine and use in game assets. There are no high rez character models. You see the same models as you would during gameplay. Now as for anti-aliasing and added effects, I don'...

Chill out buddy, did he hit a nerve?

Both is definitely the way to go, or at least have a friend with the other.

Personally, I love the PS3 for it's games and free online. I love my Xbox because my friends play it, and I can play with them online.

Everyone is different, they have different priorities and different tastes. So, obviously, people are going to have different tastes in gaming consoles. It doesn't make one better or worse than the other.

For me, the number of ...

Or maybe, just maybe, because it aired on American TV?

I want split screen online multiplayer. Few games do it, but it's a lot of fun.

What happened to the Joker? He was in the last trailer. Is he still going to be in the game?

First of all, it doesn't really matter if Xbox fans knew about those games or not, they were on PS3, not Xbox. We still enjoyed them.

Second of all, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune came out in 2007 - basically the whole reason we have an Uncharted 3. So this article directly contradicts your "no games" argument.

Me thinks the lady doth protest too much...

Honestly though, we've already seen Gears 3 gameplay. Maybe one of Microsoft's games suddenly has something to show, so MS bumped Gears for something new. Like everyone has already said, Gears is going to sell no matter what. Maybe there's something that would be more effective to promote?

Far from the first story mode screenshot, but still cool info.

It sounds like they're trying to make it a lot more epic than Killzone 2.

Expect trolls to say UC3 looks like UC2. And Resistance 3 looks "generic". But of course, Gears 3 will be the best thing to ever touch a gaming console.

Seriously, I'm calling it.

You haven't gotten to the premium cars yet? You mean the ones you start out driving when you do the licenses? Troll Fail.

Oh and if you want better physics, try turning off the assists.

Doesn't that mean GT psp wins? 800 cars with interiors vs 400 cars with interiors.

But Forza's cars are much more detailed! Exactly, think about that.

Anyone know if you can get Halo: Reach for cheaper than the $36 listed for Wal-Mart?

5553d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Really? Go karts too? A spec and B spec? WRC? NASCAR? Dynamic weather/day-night/damage? 500k Polygon models with perfectly recreated interiors?

Any racing game on PC since 2003 has had all those things?

I would have ignored you if you had listed a specific game. But your statement is beyond ridiculous and obvious trolling.

@Deathracer (ironic name)
Don't worry, when you're of age you'll get to drive a real car. Maybe then you'll understand why people like them and like to drive them at night, in the snow, at breakneck speeds.

Thing is, it's a lot cheaper and safer to do in a simulator. But it's still a heck of a lot of fun.

Just be patient, you'll get there someday.

Because it's not realistic damage. Every car is damaged the exact same way and in the exact same "canned" texture. It's a generic, one size fits all damage model.

Polyphony Digital wants to be as realistic as possible, and while the PS3 hardware may be somewhat limiting, the car manufacturers certainly aren't helping. PD isn't allowed to total a car to the point where it doesn't run anymore. But GRID does this all day long.

Why? ...

How is no rewind a weakness? That's a strength in my book. I'm playing a racing simulator, not Clockstoppers the game.

I rented Uncharted 1 when it came out. When they patched it for trophies, (one of the first games to get them), I went out and bought it. It was my first platinum.

While I enjoyed it the first time, I didn't appreciate how great it was until after spending all the extra hours getting the trophies.

While it's not exactly the same for MGS4, there are probably a lot of things you can do in the game that I don't know about. Trophies could illuminate s...
