Are games not grand.

one of the authors complaints is mine as well, "lastly, that it simply was an empty world with little to do, not to mention its severe lack of variety of things to do"

While I sunk in approx 70 so far the world feels so empty that I find myself losing interest. Fetch quests [to me] aren't bad, though they do get old in any game. Exploring is absolutely awesome. There are definitely some fine points in BoTW and it's a solid game, there's no denying that...

I think at this point Nintendo has their system sellers & has a console that is doing more than well. Console sellers such as Zelda BoTW, Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade 2 (if you're into RPGs) have all been released year 1. Odyssey was incredible and Xenoblade so far has been phenomenal. Granted more "console sellers" are needed and I certainly hope to see them coming w/in the next 2 years. Both new titles are hopefully some remasters such as Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, Super ...

it's been empty promises ever since D1. Granted they made some great changes and helped improve D1, as they surely will with D2 but as a whole their promises are empty and often misleading.

For many of us though. We've been seen this time and time again and we're done. We've been fooled 2, 3, 4, 5 times now and given up. At it's core it's a great game but the missteps, empty promises, lack of end game content have taken it's toll.

I agree trot. It's the games that Nintendo make which bring many to the table. Especially those outside the Nintendo loyalists. The only thing a beefier console would do is cut into Nintendo profits. As they'd see less profit on the machines and spend more in development costs. As gamers, with not only those exclusive games but those exclusive games appealing to people the console will sell.

I've owned NES, Gamecube, Switch. My sister had an SNES while I had th...

@ corroios.

with that logic then D2 came with what, 3 strikes out the box? Several of the original strikes were just a mission that ended up being in the strike playlist. I do agree though. At least in D1 strikes were separate from the missions and labeled as such. But that is the very least of the concerns for this game. Though more strikes are desperately needed everything at this point is desperately needed for D2. From simple medial things to adding more end game conte...

while that's possibly true the bigger question is.... what kind of other issues can be attributed to their concern or classification. ie: especially but not limited to mental. depression, social anxiety, etc. And if not what other factor is the cause for them neglecting life. Priorities not straight, no desire, no will, etc.

I certainly love my video games and have an addictive personalty but to say that addiction is real, that's just a bit reaching. Furthermore un...

About 60 hours in. Despite my hatred for some of the voice acting [Rex especially so] the game itself has been good. Though in my time I've spent far more time foraging, exploring, doing side missions and killing mobs far more than playing the story. Think I'm on Chapter 4 atm? Unfortunately it does have some technical difficulties which can be a little annoying at time. Overall though the characters, blades, worlds, game play have all been top notch. Interested to see where the story...

yeah but... they scrapped the story line in D1 just a year before release. And now again with 2 they supposedly scrapped the story 16 months before release?

I know everyone harps on the story and I'm all for a good story but they thing Bungie doesn't understand is that everything does not have to be related to the story. Like in D1 how they removed strikes and made the play list smaller because those strikes were no longer related to the current seasons theme/story....

yep. that explains why it feels so much like D1 all over again. At least D1 had bounties though. After 3 years of Destiny to see them come back with this was shameful. As is this DLC. Yes Destiny is still a phenomenal game to play, at it's core. Unfortunately the same issues that plagued D1 are present again plus some of Bungies' own doing. Again, the lack of end game content. Shat, the lack of content period. Bungie really screwed themselves and I see A LOT of Destiny fans and friend...

I enjoy in a good story in almost every game. However, most definitely. Racing games are the one genre that require nothing more than cars, tracks, a sense of speed, robust content w/ great game play. I don't play a racing game to see what kind of story it has. I play a racing game to jump in a car, drive fast, etc, and win! Be it racing vs CPU circuits, series, tracks, free roam or racing online. The Racing Genre is all about the need for speed. Not the need for storytelling.

one of the best, absolutely. Best though? Not quite. Ubi did a great job on it and I'm again looking forward to more AC.

That explains why it takes an obscene amount of time to get Glimmer. Even with a Ghost w/ 10% bonus on planet. They truly find every and any way to screw us players in Destiny. Since we don't have the content and depth what can we do to trick players into feeling they need to play more? I know, let's cap everything.

Though I will say, the experience distribution was previously better. You could get all 3 bright engrams with the weekly boost incredibly fast. Now I h...

idk that Blizzard got a pass. There were definitely mentions and griping about Overwatch. but if they did perhaps it's because loot boxes weren't as big of a topic over a year and half ago when Overwatch released. yes, people still complained about them but there wasn't nearly the same outrage we have today. Also, unlike EA's recent event Overwatch loot boxes contain nothing but trivial items. Sprays, Skins, Voice Lines. Also each time you level up they give you a loot box... ...

Lol 4 dislikes for the truth. Gotta love gaming places.

But yeah, the simple fact that from every level, starting 1, you get a loot box, this is nothing new. Just a way for Blizz to give Overwatch players a little something for the Holidays. Like how Destiny use to give a random weapon via the Postmaster at Christmas. I'm sure countless other games do random gestures for their players too. Be it a free gift or an event that requires participation.

Surprise!! I managed to get a Young Genji skin out of my last box. woo!! yeah, I don't even use Genji. Hanzo time!!

I've obviously got some boxes from leveling and got the Gold Box + ? boxes from the Twitch/Amazon Prime deal last year so.... in what little I have opened. Yeah these are typical boxes where there's almost no chance of actually pulling anything that interesting. Even if you pull a skin it's some stupid green one that looks worse than the defaul...

Gambling Defined

"to stake or risk money, or anything of value, on the outcome of something involving chance:"

Make no mistake. No one is buying loot boxes for the run of mill crap they contain. They are buying them for the chance of that elite item, skin, etc.

That's one reason I hate these always online games. Once the servers are down...

I figured the servers for KZ2 were already down. I was looking at my trophies 2-3 years ago and said dam, I never did go back to KZ2 to get the last few online trophies for the Platinum. Oh well, it's too late now. Apparently it wasn't. Now I'm not sure I have the desire or will between now and end of March.Though all I need are Acquire all bade, mission and combat specific meda...

yeah not sure what he's talking about.

"and dismantling unwanted objects does not provide Bright Dust -- one of the currencies you can earn to spend on the Eververse"

that statement is not true and anyone who plays or pays any attention to D2 should know better. And while I hate to defend Bungie or Destiny due to the lack of content out of the box, end game and DLC this is one instance where I have say, Bullocks. I have 4200 Bright Dust and ...
