Unfortunately Atlus is taking the step of releasing only the SMT series on Nintendo and keeping the spin off, Persona on PS. Personally Id love SMT make a return to PS. Nocturne, at release, was easily one of my favorite RPGs. DDS not so much but it was good as was Devil Summoner. While I don't personally care about Persona being on the Switch [already own] it would be nice to see for those who do. Either way for the time being Atlus seems set on keeping SMT on Nintendo and Persona on PS....
while I'm generally not a fan of DLC to say "dumb gamers with money will waste money on DLC" is just plain wrong and narrow minded. More often than not I finish a game and that's it. I'm of the old school variety who thinks, mainly, that a game should be released as a final product and anything more either be included with the game or packaged into a sequel. But there have been some instances the past 3-4 years that I've purchased great DLC for great games. Bloodborn...
@Prubar
Would that $10 times how many games actually account for greater revenue? You also have to factor in that more probable than not less copies will be sold; at least in regards to a majority of games. As I said, games don't garner the sales they should as it is so would that $10 increase in pricing lead to a decrease in game sales or increase revenue? It's not as simple as it sounds. Would lowering games to $40 cause more people to buy the games and bring in m...
actually SNES and N64 games were more than $50. Or the fact that games have never increased in price to adjust for inflation. I remember some SNES cartridges costing $80 when I was a kid. I honestly don't know exact price ranges or what the reason for them was but the fact remains, in the past games have carried a more than a $60 price tag.
However, I think that the industry also understands that pricing games any higher is going to price far too many gamers/consumers o...
No shocker there. To bad American Gov favors corporations these days.
If someone has a backlog that's big enough to fill a pool with the discs alone... that person needs to start spending more time gaming and/or stop buying new games until they're ready to play them. Or even focus on a single game at a time and put it down only once it's finished. Be it story/campaign done or 100%, whatever the desire.
I admit, I have a few games I've yet to play but they mainly stem from lacking the desire to sink the time into them or just...
Robust is most likely one word I will not use to describe this DLC or it's content. Though it should be fun and hopefully give me another solid month of game play.
cheapest I've seen Black Friday are $50. As Agent said, it'll never go lower than $40. Even 5 years ago when I bought a few at $40 Ive yet to see it cheaper. Crap, it's not every year you can even get them for $40.
by definition loot boxes are gambling. There is no way around that. The problem lies in that we, as a society have become to view a lenient stance on the word. When in fact what we say isn't gambling in fact is. I personally think it's somewhat of a gray area and understand both sides of the argument. I've dealt blackjack and poker at a Casino for well over a decade. Just because at Casinos you're wagering money on a game of chance for a monetary return is gambling doesn't...
and let's not forget in this day in age players, scratch that, people are complaining about anything and everything. Yeah we might hate on certain aspects or games but we still have fun and enjoy some of them.
I'd say the same thing but despite the stupid changes and another vanilla title I did spend a lot of time playing D2 the first month. The DLC is already paid for but next year, next year it's highly likely several friends and myself won't partake in this anymore. Which is truly sad because at it's core Destiny is a great game. It's just that Bungie doesn't know what to do with the franchise, gives us too little content, charges too much when said content is DLC and con...
that's one of my biggest concerns. If they don't learn from Bungie. These games are releasing a vanilla game saying this is enough content for $60. Then it's paid DLC and annual Updates. I can't even say they're expansions because of how little they offer. Destiny has the potential yet their model and Bungie themselves prevent it from truly ever shining. Granted it's still a solid game and I play the crap out of it but due to the vanilla model it lasts limited time the...
"EA Games, Capcom, and Activision has been initially hesitant to put much weight behind Switch, and perhaps they are missing out on lumps of cash."
Or perhaps they understand that a lot of Switch owners are gamers who would likely choose to buy their games for PS4/X1 or already have. Sure it's probable some people will miss out but is that group large enough to warrant support? ie money spent to bring the game to Switch. I'd be interested to see just how ...
I think that with the introduction of PS4 perhaps Sony hoped people would see the value in remote play. A big problem with the PS3 was that some great games that should have supported remote play didn't. There was a work around where games like Ni No Kuni were shown running on remote play but to the mass market this wasn't possible. Granted you still need WiFi access to use remote play which limits it's use. So from a handheld, on the road, w/o WiFi access system it is limited. We...
Be interesting to see what direction they take and how long they stay afloat. At least they have their beloved Hitman and Freedom Fighters. Though my bet, if not a new Hitman, they'll be working on something new.
"As it turns out, the Kane & Lynch IP stayed with Square Enix following the separation from IO. So did Mini Ninjas, if anyone cares." I absolutely care. IO did an incredible job on Mini Ninjas and it was a great game. Granted now that they're...
More like casual/mainstream gamers. They're the majority who gobble up EAs products & MTs. Be it sports titles or otherwise. That is their target audience, their bread and butter along w/ a topping of hardcore sports gamers and franchise players.
Personally the last EA game I bought was the Dead Space series; 1-3. Take that back, think NFS Hot Pursuit came out after Dead Space 3. Anyway, the next and only EA game on my radar [aside from NHL 18 Black Friday] is Anthe...
Gamecube. Nintendo had 3rd party support and even got an exclusive Resident Evil, 4. Yes it eventually came to PS but was initially a Nintendo exclusive for like 2 years if I recall. The problem was Nintendo was competing against Halo in it's prime and PS. However don't overlook just how good the Gamecube was and how much support it did get.
how can you snub the PS1 era? :P seriously though, yeah SNES, PS2 and PS1 were RPG Kings. Honorable mention to 360 simple because of Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey. Those two were that phenomenal imo.
and gamers should simply buy great games but by in large they don't. I've been saying this for 2 decades. Games just don't sell like they should.
I do agree that it shouldn't matter what the release date is. However, some people simply can't afford to buy everything at any point in time. Some have families, bills, etc and need to pick and choose what and when they buy a particular title. For those with limited resources a release date a huge impact on a...
Dec 9th on PS4 is the Demo/Beta weekend; PS+ required. And I'm assuming it'll last only the weekend. All they've said, that I know of, is that'll be at least 3 days. Seems a lot of these demo/betas that drop are weekend demos more so than an actual beta.
