Are games not grand.

From article
"To be fair, about $2 billion of the revenue from microtransactions came from King, maker of popular games on Facebook and mobile devices such as Candy Crush Saga and Shuffle Cats. King was acquired by Activision Blizzard in 2016." Which should be no surprise because Facebook games, if successful, can rake money.

So 2 billion was from elsewhere. Also it doesn't state whether or not this includes Season Passes or for that matter WoWs subs...

Maybe it's the fact I put 255 hours into this game but.... I was getting sick of hearing the same limited tunes in the same locations. Seriously though, the game is phenomenal. It does have a great soundtrack yet they couldn't get great voice actors? Graphics, side quests, game play are all great.

even when docked Xenoblade 2 struggled at times and has a ton of pop in. Overall it was a phenomenal game though. Just like in some games, like Monster Hunter, you have trade offs between certain gear or swords. Same can be applied here. With the Switch there are going to be trade offs for it also being a handheld. Power doesn't matter yet if it had more it could run any game both in console and handheld with equality. And lets not forget battery life. With more power and equality would m...

that's Square Enix for you... I remember when FF Versus XIII was announced alongside FFXIII back when the PS3 was in it's infancy. Eventually VS XIII became FF XV after like a decade. Square Enix are painfully slow at developing their games. Which is great when it works. Though hopefully like other companies who are trying to refrain from showing games too early, hopefully Square learns and starts showing games that are slated to release w/in 1-2 years instead of always showing early ...

there's a great way to sell GaaS. Actually make a robust world and game that is sustainable until you can release a DLC, Season Pass or Expansion. Unfortunately us gamers are constantly left with not enough content in this model. Enough compelling content in itself is a good start for any GaaS title.

It's incredibly easy to play through the early story missions w/ minimal upgrades. Just find a weapon and make a couple elements of it, upgrade those and keep progressing. And pick a equipment set, upgrade it and just roll with that until HR 9-12. There's really no reason anyone can't get to HR 6 in a few nights to a week. And once you view the cut scene you can fire up an SoS or just leave and have a friend join you, repost and finish it.

it is about power to some degree. But yes, by and large, for a lot of gamers and consumers in general it's about the software.

Hardware advances, especially from 8 to 16, 32 to 64 bit and even beyond were huge. However now that we've been in an HD era starting last gen games can be created to look amazing. Also as production costs continue to elevate, power only has so much potential and leverage. If developers can't or won't spend the money to get 1080p or ...

Zer0. that sums up. But you don't necessarily have to fail. You can hit the objectives, usually, yes, which means spot a monster then just leave from the options menu.

dirkdady. as for the question. it's really a non issue. It's only the story missions that are like this. You can post investigations and other events for you and friends to join freely. Though the setup is tricky and a bit backward for a game in 2018 once you figure out how it all works it's ...

just what I didn't want. Already 240 hours into this game. I don't need a new reason to persuade me to keep playing, this game is already phenomenal and has TONS to accomplish and do...

Seriously though, always nice to have NG+ option. I'll probably be wrapping up the side quests and last of the story soon but Monster Hunter Worlds is going to be taking my time for a while. If in a drought, this is will be a good reason to go back though.

that's exactly it. They will say the right thing and have been since day 1 of D1.

Prior to the taken king they were talking about massive this update. All they did was reskin every weapon and armor piece and added very little. It wasn't this massive update they'd been boasting about... It's been the same song and dance though since D1. Toot our horn, say we're doing this, say this is going to be big, etc. And it didn't help that they completely strip...

yeah I have over 200 hours in. Clock says 252 but at least twice now I got extending time on my save file when picking back up after in sleep mode. Milking every last of this game. Leveling up blades, side quests, just farming mats for no reason, salvaging, etc... It's certainly not w/o it's flaws but at the same time it's a phenomenal game. Though trying to pull a few of these last blades out of core crystals is becoming incredibly annoying as well. I can't pull Newt, Agate, ...

I had a hard time. "Tora dream of sausages the size of Poppi!" But I've managed to switch between Tora and Morag being my Tank. Zeke, not really fond too of and he just doesn't fit. Rex is DMG, Nia Healz, and like a Tank so Morag/Tora. It is disappointing I can't just rock 4 characters in the party. Having to switch between them does no justice to two great characters. And Rex, well at one point there's no way you'd want to remove him with his ability to...

not quite. no more Athenas Blades, Blades of Chaos, etc. We get an axe now so the game play will be something different; at least to a degree.

I find it hilarious though. Someone wasting their time on an article asking if we should be worried about GoW. As if it's going to come out and become Legacy of Kain 2, DMC 2 or something atrocious. Not only is Sony Santa Monica a fantastic dev team they have great leadership too. Oh no, they've re-imagined GoW, the sky is F...

Destiny has been killing itself since D1 and it's first expansions. Though they really shot themselves in the foot with D2 and those of us who have been through it all, we're at the end.

Having said that, if Anthem can deliver the kind of end game content and content in general that Bungie seems to constantly fail to deliver then it'll be sitting good. Assuming the game play is good. I certainly don't expect it to stand up to Destiny in the game play depart...

I also said, "Yes it's no Ni No Kuni, Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Final Fantasy, Tales of, but it's a wonderful title that has me wanting to play 1 and hoping for a 3."

I say it's no Ni No Kuni because it doesn't have the same level of finish or charm. Like I've said, the voice acting is egregious, perhaps the most of any RPG I've played. But it's also something I've gotten over because the worlds are...

I haven't even felt the need to use other characters. Aside from the occasional times I need to do "X" w/ "X" blade because the CPU just isn't doing it. Though I guess I also don't want to play a Tank and Zeke is annoying. Though I have thought about riding Dromach around because it seems to covers more ground than Rex.

I've definitely been feeling the issue regarding play style. Mainly because you get [some] awesome blades but often I f...

Xenoblade 2 is a great game. While it doesn't have the touch and charm of Level 5s Ni No Kuni in it's own right it's a great game. As is Tora! "Tora dream of sausages the size of Poppi!" While i do agree the location marking of the compass can be a bit troublesome the game in it's entirety is solid. That said, a lot, if not most of the voice acting is egregious. Especially but not limited to Rex. The combat is good, blades are great, worlds are wonderful, story so fa...

No you shouldn't care. You should be thrilled. Yes it's not Demons Souls which a lot of us want since it's the original and most dated but DS is still a phenomenal game. I always felt a bit guilty not going back and playing it more, trophy hunting... So with some upgrades and on current gen. Thrilled.

That's what I liked about Dark Souls 3. It came with a steelbook and the game in it's regular case. Granted not the special art work you mention but still. You got the game in it's [almost] original, retail packaging with a steelbook.

I've bought every GoW special edition to date. $150, Gamestop exclusive, no thanks. Furthermore, for the extra contents outside the figure, how is this that much more expensive than Last Guardian or Horizons CEs. 2' figure...

Destiny, so much lost potential. This song and dance has been going on since D1 launched. And somehow Bungie managed not only to regress with the launch of D2 but release an even more pathetic DLC than usual.
