must drive enough traffic to warrant. So to that I say, I can't believe people continue to click on these bs click bait articles to read a fat nothing burger.

I find that on occasion takes like his can be funny and warranted. However when you build a brand on negativity and shit, yeah, it's only a matter of time before people grow tired of that bs. It just comes off as wholly unreasonable and pathetic over time. Another hater out to hate on a hobby they proclaim to love. We need less bs and more reasonable and subjective based reviews, not hate and clickbait.

@shinoff - I read the campaign is 30-40 with side quests/content bringing it up to maybe 80 hours. Pretty reasonable length from the sounds of it.

Good or not, if you put 100 hours into a game you either enjoyed a good portion of, or you're a trophy/achievement junkie. Games that aren't quite good can still be enjoyable and at the end of the day, your enjoyment with a game is what matters most.

I think the bigger problem is that games often appear in the following month so if you already bought a game at launch you miss out on the points; or have to buy something else on the list. While I primarily buy physical that is one thing I'd like to see change.

it's not a sprint, it's a marathon in regards to game sales. If it is truly done and polished, best to just get it out on the market. Sure early sales figures are important, but it's not the end all be all. I mean look at a game like Okami which only sold like a quarter mil in the first year; now lifetime sales sit at 4 million. I think the greater impact to early sales will be Persona 3 Reload due it releasing the day after Gran Blue. At least with Rebirth, it's basically dro...

cool, 5 sports games, and unless I'm missing something the list isn't even 10 long. 8 out of the 9 games are $100 or less, hardly an arm and a leg while only one game, the pulled release of NBA Elite 11 by EA is listed as $20k. Other titles included are Armored Core For Answer, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Spiderman Shattered Dimensions, and El Chavo cart round out the list of 9, not 10.

That's what annoys me with these numbers. 13 mil with an average of 40 hours doesn't really paint any meaningful picture. How many played for hundreds or even thousands of hours and how many played for 20 or less... it's MS number shenanigans at its finest. Find a way to make the numbers look more impressive than they are...

the game really had some potential. Loading screens, loose shooting mechanics, and any number of other things killed it. Including but not limited to an abysmal amount of content at launch. Those suits and flight though were on another level. With some refinement those mechanics have to be the base of EA's Iron Man game.

Baldurs Gate 3 is a cut above. However none are necessarily better games as they are all great, hence the nominations. ToTK, Alan Wake 2, Spiderman 2 are all solid games well worth putting time into. I mean I hated BoTW yet somehow ToTK hooked me.... At the end of the day BG3 is simply one of those special titles, the kind that we may not see for several more years if we're lucky...

Anyway, even if Spiderman were a 'popcorn' game, is that a bad thing? The game w...

@Terry_B - you basically just explained the planning/conception phase. Game was pitched, license approved, project was given green light to proceed at which point work on art, story, etc. are all done. That is not at part of development but rather part of pre-development. The process in which gets you to the actual development of a game.

Name one. What are some monopolies currently in the US. Not perceived monopolies, but actual monopolies. I'm genuinely curious now.

Beyond Good and Evil released 20 years ago on Nov 11. So yeah, it did in fact flop and did in fact release. It sold so poorly that w/in like a month the game was being sold for $15-20.

this games going to flop harder than Beyond Good and Evil. And yes, for all you children out there, Beyond Good and Evil, for all its love, flopped harder than an elephant on the high dive when it released.

ie: we don't want to pay Google or Apple the standard rate we [too] charge on the XB/MS store, therefore, we look to use our infinite resources to create a new app that gives us the ability to maximize profits on our products while raking in a cut from those who wish to sell digital items on our new storefront. Think that about sums it up....

@TheEnigma313 - criticize a company because, even at the higher pricing, the monthly cost of PS+ is less than a cup of coffee? @ $80 annually that's $6.66/mo. Make no mistake, I dislike the price increase, but we're talking spending chump change each month while expecting gold in return. Furthermore, how many people here have $35-50 subs active? Meaning they've paid $2.91-$4.16/mo. It's just silly and beyond ridiculous that month after month people complain about free games th...

Granblue Fantasy Relink dropping a day before Persona 3 Reload is awfully close. FF VII Rebirth dropping a month before Dragon's Dogma is not awfully close, though, it's still arguably close. Semantics aside, it's going to be quite the adventure kicking off 2024 with those 4 games. Trails to Daybreak coming in the Summer too. It's been quite the RPG ride here the past couple years and I'm loving it.
