I'd expect the Hardware announcement to come around or at TGS. Be that via their own show or at TGS itself. That's also assuming new hardware will launch for the Holidays or first half of 2025.
I think the biggest difference between the past and present is that games were rated based on a number of factors, not opinions and emotions. Pre internet when print magazines were your source for reviews, guides, and news. While still subjective the measurements gave a base line about the games own merits & worth in it's own right from technical to storytelling. Such measures as graphics, story, sound, etc. Today professional games journalist merely means you get paid to write your o...
This game is the very definition of what is wrong with big publishers and mainstream gaming.
that's been my take. The all about me gamers. There are tons of games I don't give two shits about, but instead of whining about it I play the games I do enjoy. So the sooner all these internet clowns realize PS, XB, and Nintendo aren't making each and every game for them, the better we will be for it.
Not every game or showcase is going to be bangers any one individual is excited for. This incessant complaining from the gaming community has become so absurd it...
@Romulus - I could be mistaken but I recall correctly, even when the original was an exclusive people were heavily divided. You had the camp whi adored it while the others said the same things about 1 that are being said about 2. Mayhap I'm wrong but that's how I remember it being.
@PassNext.... - Micro transactions. MT, MTX, whatever they abbreviate them as.... or perhaps we can start calling them Macro transactions now that so many games are charging $20+ for something like a skin....
The whole point of annual CoD now isn't games sales. It's MTs. These publishers/games are making money hand over fist on MTs, not from selling games. This is why the entire industry has been pushing monetization of everything..... mts made up 61% of Acti-Blizz income in 2021.
I was wondering if that played any part considering the timing, though, XB claimed the game to be a success last year only on XB & PC. Regardless MS f'd up there too. They shadow dropped HiFi on XB/PC last year at the perfect time. This year when they released on PS not only had the hype died, but there were so many solid games available the first 3 months of this year to play.
I almost bought it on PC last year, but now that it dropped on PS I just have far too man...
From what I read this was always a thing. However due to popularity/server issues at launch this requirement was temporarily suspended.
That being said, if this was always the case they should've conveyed it to consumers better. Regardless of what is true or fiction it's a terrible situation.
At the same time countless companies make you sign into a account of thier own to access games and other software. Generally speaking that is a practice I ...
this month we're dropping *insert IP name* for a total of X new in game Funko. Each digital Funko will be available for only $9.99. These are time limited so don't miss your chance to acquire these hot new digital Funko. you mean something like that, lol.
Should they not be labeled as ads then?
gimme, gimme, gimme.
if I recall Sony lowered sales expectations for PS5 earlier this year. if that is the case we won't hear anything about a Pro until next year or shortly before/when it's dropping. After all, if the Pro was dropping this year/fiscal year they wouldn't have lowered expectations.
As for squashing rumors. Yeah, shit like this prevents potential buyers from adopting now, just like slim rumors in the past. It only makes sense to keep things under wraps from a business...
when you fail to see games for their own merits, strengths and weaknesses. I thought XVI was an excellent game in it's own right. Shit remove Final Fantasy from the title and it stands on it's own, but that is part of the problem right. Final Fantasy has been around so long people have expectations of what they feel/think is or isn't FF. Sure there are some aspects that could've been improved/better, but overall XVI was an epic experience & dam solid video game.
Right. From reviewers to gamers you'd think the people who supposedly 'love' this hobby just hate on everything for the dumbest and smallest of reasons. We had console wars then too, but as a community we uplifted games, not destroy them before they even hit market.....
We're afraid that for a few hours today you may actually go touch grass, we can't have that. Activision
Somebody tell this clown it's only a standard when other teams follow suit. Hell blade will be the outlier, not the standard.
next gen Switch
@ just_looken
the one thing Helldivers 2 added was appeal, and the sales show as much.
So when Phil Spencer steps down does that mean XB will close up shop. Leaders move on, that happens with studios and any business. These clowns didn't even bother giving the studio a chance.
