they did say in the stream a few days ago that all the known issues should be fixed for Quickplay. So yeah, hopefully they knew about all the different checkpoint and progression issues that were happening.

They should really add climate changes to the game through the year. In the Winter get a little snow fall, snow on the ground. Spring we get some puddles, rain, leaves growing on trees, etc. Not sure the amount of time that would go into making this happen but changing the game with the season would be a nice touch imo. Nothing too drastic but just a little something. Not sure if The Division ever had events but some Seasonal Events can be interesting as well. Obviously a quality game, conten...

@Napalm

there are most definitely some us who do know what we enjoy & can make good decisions w/o relying on reviews. Value and enjoyment are both subjective but we understand what we enjoy and what is worth our $60. That is the key. Understanding what YOU enjoy and whether or not a game is in your wheelhouse.

I quit looking at reviews and scores to influence my decision in the PS2 era and I've yet to buy a turd. Of the 100+ retail PS4 games and ...

it's definitely a shame Activision is publishing it. With all those layoffs after a record year I was tempted to not pick this up. But it is From Software and I love their games so support I must. Hopefully in the future From Software goes back with Bandai Namco or Capcom will show interest in publishing their games in North America.

you were spot on until mentioning that all Anthem content will be free. While they say content is free now the fact is we simply won't know for certain any time soon how long this free content will last. All that we know is that content in the foreseeable future is free. I wouldn't be surprised if a year from now we saw a Season Pass or a Paid add on DLC/Expansion. I said it when Monster Hunter released while they were touting free updates and I'll say it again. Just because they&...

that's just it. The PSP and Vita in their own right are excellent handhelds. However the support & long term commitment was never there on either. I'd say let sleeping dogs lie.

Now if they could provide a handheld that complimented their console. Something you could play digital games on both w/o remote play; or w/ or w/o it. Perhaps there would be a market to make it worth while. At least gamers would know that there won't be a lack of games they can use w...

to be fair God of War was only $50 at Amazon via Prime. Not sure if they still had their 2 weeks after release still going but it wouldn't have mattered anyway. God of War and all Sony titles after simply weren't available at Amazon after release for several weeks. There seemed to be an issue with Amazon getting Sony published titles. MLB The Show they didn't even carry at all last season in physical form. Detroit too was unavailable close to release and not available for quite so...

Breath of Fire. Yes Please. Legacy of Kain. YES PLEASE!!

some other great mentions in there as well. Warcraft is long overdue. Warcraft 3 was decades ago and even WoW came out what, something like 15 years ago? Under the right developer and given enough time Warhawk could be a great IP for re-introduction. Warhawk and MAG could possibly even go the F2P route and be a huge success.

I'd add Suikoden to that list. Like Breath of Fire I wouldn't even...

It was a fun and solid game. However, the story, characters, etc, they were shit. Take away those cut scenes and game itself was pretty enjoyable. Overall though, due to those characters, story, etc, yeah, it was pretty shite. What makes it worse is I tried to play the Remaster last year and I couldn't even skip that crap. Needless to say I didn't get too far before shelving it and leaving the game to memory.

I'm not sure. One of the biggest problem with these games is content to keep players engaged. So while it might be too late short term for most, those who primarily only play these games could find a cycle in which to continue playing multiple titles. One of the largest complaints, to me and imo, is the lack of content. I guess another is the grind but if you don't appreciate spending the time in a game then these games simply aren't for you. Not to say some don't have crappy ...

I thoroughly enjoyed XV. Yeah it was unfortunate that the game focused on Noctis and wasn't w/o it's faults but it was still really enjoyable and a solid game. Though I still think/wish they should have just continued Versus and done something else for XV. But you are definitely right. Dragon Quest XI is a masterpiece. Not sure it's budget makes it AAA but it's definitely a AAA game in my book. Definitely among the best and it was nice to see a Dragon Quest finally do well out...

At it's core isn't gaming about having fun? Playing a game that you enjoy, having fun while playing. I'm not trying to defend the game because it's certainly flawed, incomplete in so many different ways & Hard is flat out cheap instead of challenging. At the end of the day games are suppose to be about having fun. What was fun to me when I was a kid playing side scrolling NES-Genesis, and even later games just doesn't cut it for me anymore. Not to say they're bad g...

after reading their plans before the game released I realized this. It almost seemed like they cut content from the game just to have additional content in March. And an ever expanding story? Do they even have a complete story atm or do they plan to just wing it?

I've thoroughly enjoyed playing with friends and it's only because of one I even have a copy. But Anthem is shaping up to be the fundamental reasons these games won't stick. Sure they'll have some ...

that was just for EA Access subscribers and some free publicity. Notice how quickly they patched that. I don't think any dev has ever been able to address an exploit that quickly; uncanny.

but are they being rejected by gamers? I mean every dam person in my friends list tonight was playing Anthem. Maybe some gamers are rejecting them but we really won't know until the sales figures are in.

On to the topic at hand.
My biggest concern has always been end game content. While doubtful, I really hoped that Bioware would have learned from Bungie. While Destiny is a great game (minus the horrific D2 year 1), at least mechanically, the biggest issue ha...

Dragon Quest has never been a strong seller in the US. Though hopefully that has changed now.

Dragon Quest VII, 200k. Dragon Quest VIII, 430k US. Obviously aside from some titles RPGs just aren't big sellers in the US. PS2 days when DQ8 dropped RPGs were only selling 250-500k. Be it NISA titles, Tales of, etc, they just weren't getting the sales numbers.

Though a lot of other games/genres simply weren't selling at that time either. Okami was...

RPGs, generally speaking, are a bit of a niche genre. Especially but not limited to, when compared to action, shooter, etc. So yes, any developer/publisher should be expecting lower sales for RPGs as opposed to many other games. Granted there are exceptions like Final Fantasy and other RPGs which have sold incredibly well but those are not the norm. Despite Dragon Quest being a huge success in Japan it's never been a huge seller in the US either. According to Wiki Dragon Quest VII sold le...

but it was the b-team making Mass Effect Andromeda. LMFAO.

I admit, I was hopeful with Anthem. My fears were always end game but it turns out I should have been afraid of the entire package. You are right though. Bioware is a shell of its former self at this point, lacking either the talent and time to finish a game or both.
