well, for the most part I'd say anything I was playing as a kid on Atari 2600 and NES were kids games; in part probably because gaming was relatively new. There were no adult games like today; though there are some exceptions I'm sure. It wasn't until Mortal Kombats "Finish Him" animations with blood and gore along with the Ratings system that ensued because of the graphical violence. Even then. If I recall a vast majority of games on the SNES and Genesis weren't M. ...

Vagrant Story is a terrible example. As is almost every single game released on the PS2 or prior. Games from those days were often lucky to hit 1 million units sold. Many RPGs and even other genres were lucky to hit 400-500k in sales. Take Okami for example. It sold maybe a few hundred thousand copies tops at release on PS2 & in the aftermath Capcom shuttered Clover Studios. Which lead some of the developers to create Platinum Games so it wasn't all bad I guess. Still, you can cherry ...

it's hard to say this isn't troubling. Assuming a console stays alive for 20+ years you should be able to play whatever games you own on it. At least those that aren't always online though that's another topic of discussion as well.

Imagine this, Nintendo put this battery and setup in the original NES, SNES and N64 while Sega did the same with the Genesis, Saturn... How many of those consoles would now be defunct because of a dead battery? It's a valid c...

perfect. I picked up Ys IX about a week ago. Been playing the Trails of Cold Steel series for several weeks so plan on playing Ys when I'm done or possibly after Nier.

Yes MLB wanted a game on other platforms because outside PS there was no real MLB games. However that has nothing to do with it being on Gamepass. That being said MS llikely did pay for it to be on gamepass. Furthermore, don't discount the amount of money this game makes annually on selling stubs [in game currency]. Just like any sports game there is an abundance of people buying stubs. So let's assume for a minute MS didn't pay. Sony has nothing to lose really. They still recoup ...

yeah I still have a sealed copy of Folklore too. I almost never do this but I had originally rented it. One day I saw it for like $20 at Walmart so picked up a copy. Always meant to re-play it but just never did. I think in part because it never got trophy support[?]. It was an interesting and unique game that didn't get the love it deserved.

I see Trails of Cold Steel II is tagged. Not sure where PS3 prices sit but the PS4 version of both Trails I and II were around $1...

I'd been thinking about checking out Trails of Cold Steel for a while now. Kept putting it off but about a month ago I went to finally buy them. Only to see the physical copies price had shot up since the Holiday season. At that point I went ahead and bought I & II on the PS Store then proceeded to order III and IV physical copies. Chalk it up as another RPG/game I should've bought sooner lol....

So after few weeks I wrapped up Trails I a couple nights ago and j...

they were sold out days ago w/in 24 hours of posting. I didn't check my email one night and by the next they were already sold out. At least @ Goodsmile. Not sure if Play Asia or other online retailers still have them for pre-order or not.

MS has been playing catch up since the OG XB. In the 360 era, for some time they acknowledged their lack of games. Actually I think it was early on/before 360 dropped. Anyway they cut deals for some games and I believe acquired some studios as well; some of which are w/o doubt closed now. At some point they probably figured they didn't need to focus on games. If MS would've been committed to expanding development, creating new studios along with acquisitions they could've been in ...

that battery life though. I played Xenoblade Definitive 3 of the past 4 weeks and I could play that game for like 4-5 nights [full shifts+] before a battery warning popped or I just charged it anyway.

Personally I've always felt it should have been and be $60 from the jump. The only difference between these and other consoles I think is the Amiibo reader. Obviously now you could also compare it to the new PS controller but retail is $70 one those for haptic... which, f...

not sure what the problem is here. I mean the PS4 Pro has been out for over 4 years now and it hasn't seen a price cut. The XB1X in November will be 4 years old as well and I don't recall a price cut on that. Though perhaps there was one now that the Series X is out. Though if I recall they just stopped making them altogether and let remaining stock sell at full price.

For better or worse $300 is probably the sweetest and cheapest price point. I certainly don't...

yeah, upon further examination..... PS5 doesn't have even movies/video on the storefront. At least I can't seem to find it. There is the PS 'My Videos' app you can still use to view purchased video.

Personally I think it's a bit of a bummer. I don't rent movies and don't buy many either but Sony often had some great deals on some anime. Despite having Funimation I've went ahead and bought a bunch of them anyway along with a couple anime movi...

right, GTFO with this crap. I'm so sick of seeing this after Sony, Nintendo or even MS have a show. People need to stop expecting mind blowing, jaw dropping announcements. This is not E3, TGS or any other major event. These are video showcases for some games coming. Sometimes they may include fire but not every single time. Plus, not every show is going to be of interest to everyone out there. Regardless, this crap is really grinding my gears. Think State of Play, Nintendo Direct or the X...

the game was a blast. flight was superb, combat was decent enough and the world was good. The load times & mission structure requiring load in, load out. The lack of story, lack of end game content, structure of loot, etc were all what held it back. A game like this doesn't need the best or longest of stories but it should at least be good. More importantly the end game content; or lack there of. Cataclysm should have been available w/in 2-4 weeks and fresh content either already avai...
