Jesus, you'd think some of these guys commenting would want Sony to have a monopoly on the industry, or something.
Anyway, this was a pretty good article. I'm glad that they focused on the marketing aspect instead of the timed-exclusive content aspect. Marketing deals are a great way to get the average consumer to purchase a product, but timed-exclusive (or straight exclusive) DLC or add-ons are anti-consumer, in my opinion.
Can't wait for So...
Metroid Prime Hunters was a pretty good portable title. Besides, the Switch is a home console too. If you want the home console experience you can just put it in the dock. Otherwise, portable is great.
Yep, that is exactly what I'm thinking. It really would be a good move for Nintendo to release a port/remaster of good Wii U games between major releases. Pretty easy money for them, and keeps customers playing their Switches.
I was lucky enough to get my hands on a Switch, but my model as a consumer has always been "If I can't walk into a store and grab one without too much work I'll just wait until it becomes more available".
I'm not interested in trying to dance around shipment schedules for retailers, and I'm certainly not willing to give my money to scalpers.
As it stands right now? No I wouldn't pay for it. I still receive disconnects from time to time, and there aren't any of the amenities that XBL and PSN provide for their paid services. That being said, I can also understand how it is difficult for a relatively small company (compared to the other manufacturers that is) to try and provide a great and stable networking system for millions of users without the funding.
I think Nintendo should have implemented a servic...
Party chat has kinda helped out in that regard. Of course, there is always the mute button too.
I'd prefer the option of voice chat to no option of voice chat.
I'm sure the developer knew the project would be shut down. It sounds to me like he was trying to receive some attention before he actually changed the characters in the game.
It has more than one game, but Zelda is definitely the biggest game. They've provided official numbers for how much has been sold. Are you insinuating they are lying about the numbers?
The PS4 actually experienced stock shortages until April 2014. Sony admitted this cost them sales.
There are more gamers above the age of thirty five than there are teen gamers.
Not a lot of people own a Wii U. To those that don't, why would you purchase a Wii U to play Zelda when you can buy a Switch for 50$ more and take it on the go?
They have provided real numbers. 2.74 million consoles sold in 28 days. You may have to wait until next months NPD to see the numbers for April.

We understand that the PSP had that capability. But there were a few issues with it.
1) You had to buy the PSP and the dock separately.
2) You needed to have a PS3 controller on hand, or you had to be tethered to your TV.
3) The games still displayed 420x272 which is roughly 2/3rds of 480p and a whopping 1/7th the amount of pixels as 720p. Needless to say, they looked like butt. Cool idea though.
If this happens (though I'm not saying it will) that means Nintendo would have effectively sold more in one year (and made more profit for Nintendo) than the Wii U did its entire life. This is both great for Nintendo, and great for Nintendo fans. The more Switch units are sold the more support the Switch receives.
They wouldn't be able to do a full Bayonetta trilogy for PS4 or XB1 unless Nintendo gave the approval to use Bayonetta 2. I don't really see that happening unless Sega gave Nintendo a sum. They can certainly move on with Bayonetta 3 though.
Better 2-D Metroid?
Every 2-D Metroid Nintendo has made has been fantastic. It has just been a long time since they've made one.
Well, that is what happens when you sell your consoles for profit and downsize your less profitable subsidiaries. I'm glad Sony is pulling through!
@the person who disagreed with me.
What are you disagreeing with? Do you think none of those helped Sony reach a huge profit margin or...
I really doubt it will receive 100% attach rate, but that would be cool for Nintendo if it does!
Yeah, I hear that a lot from the Xbox fans in regards to the "free" games that come out monthly since Sony likes to give away indies. Really ridiculous in my opinion. Some indie games are fantastic (like Rocket League).
That being said, this is great news. MS is helping people get their footing. Nothing wrong with that at all.
This whole "winning E3" thing is nonsense. For the most part you are going to prefer the E3 presentations for the console you prefer. If you are a Nintendo fan, Nintendo will probably win. If you are a Sony fan, Sony will probably win. If you are an Xbox fan, Xbox will probably win.
In the end, as long as every manufacturer has a good presentation and lineup of games, the consumer is the one who wins.
