5 years after...Wii U released 2012 and Switch released 2017.
Zelda has a higher metascore than Horizon, yet that’s lower on the list. I don’t think meta scores were a big consideration of this list.

I don’t know why they called Horizon a sleeper hit. A sleeper hit is something that gradually accumulates a fan base. Horizon Zero Dawn sold fast, not gradually. It’s had a lot of promotion to boot.
Ori is only on one console.
The difference is the type of game. A game which is story driven will probably lose points for the story if it isn’t good because that is where the game puts it’s emphasis. A game like Mario puts emphasis elsewhere.
Rating a game like Mario on it’s story is like rating Call of Duty on it’s RPG mechanics.
Things like costumes I don’t see the problem with, but there have been a few games where game modes are locked behind amiibos. Which isn’t cool, in my opinion.
For me:
1. Zelda
2. Persona 5
3. Nier: Automata
4. Metroid: Samus Returns
5. Resident Evil 7

I think you are misinterpreting what a stop gap is. The NES Classic was a stop-gap, the Switch isn't.
You didn't have to pay for the game again from Wii to Wii U, so it isn't every new platform.

Nintendo makes new IPs as well, like Splatoon or Arms. It may not always be as much as Sony, but that doesn't mean they survive solely on nostalgia.
If Nintendo is the one who survives off nostalgia, why does Sony's platform have more remastered and remade games?
