Splatoon 2 and Mario + Rabbids I’d consider must haves, personally.
I wouldn’t say it’s completely changed the state of the games industry, but boy is it a great console!
4.2 million Switch’s sold?
I think that puts Nintendo a bit above the 12 million mark.
PSVR is doing surprisingly well too!
What titles would compel you personally?
Most definitely, I have a Switch already, but I’d kill for Metroid Prime Trilogy HD.
What the switch needs for 2018:
1. A steady stream of games
2. Compelling exclusives
Everything else are incredibly welcome improvements though.
You still arent even considering the games the Switch may get that Wont be on other consoles (i.e. exclusives).
This conversation isn’t really going anywhere...
That's because Doom on the Switch doesn't have anywhere near the framerate issues that Borderlands 2 on the Vita did. Doom on Switch is at least a semi consistent 30FPS when Borderlands 2 on Vita was regularly below 20FPS, typically 13-14FPS in towns.
Again, you are always thinking about the number of games. Let me put it to you this way...do you know what platform receives the most games in any given year?
Mobile (i.e. Android/iOS), then PC. Yet we never think about those platforms as "dominating" regarding video game culture. It isn't about the number of releases, it is about the impactful releases.
Not really a big stock shortage. PS4 just had a huge sale and Switch had no discount. I mean, 1 TB PS4 was 200$ with a gift card for 50$, Switch was 300$.
I think Nintendo should have thought of discount bundles at least.
You’ve absolutely no idea what may happen next year. Especially with the success the console has seen thus far.
@knushwood
Are you sure that was posted before mine? I believe they added that source to mine after the fact. Otherwise mine would have been flagged as a duplicate.
Again, it depends entirely on which multiplatform games it lacks and what games it brings forth that are exclusive to make up for it.
It depends on what titles are immune ommitted and what titles are gained.
I’ve said this before, but you focus way too much on “how much”.
Nail on the head in this case.
@gameseeker
You are right in that I should approve articles more often, but Media Create is NOT Nintendo. It’s a weekly sales article. I don’t see people see people complaining about Nintendo articles not being approved, but they are complaining about the pattern of sales articles which people avoid approval when certain companies win or lose. It’d be like people avoiding approval of an NPD article just because Xbox or PlayStation won.
That being said...i...
@knushwood
There was no media create article that was approved this week at the time of posting. Hence why I posted this one. Looking through a list of approved articles I still don’t see an approved media create article for this week aside from this one.
@Kun
Heck, it isn’t even a Nintendo article. So I’ve no idea why he brought up fanboys at all.
And if it releases a steady stream of quality exclusives from first and third party developers they can make up for their lack of some notable third party titles.
It isn’t like the DS or Wii sold based off multiplatform games.
Splatoon, Mario + Rabbids, Arms, Snipperclips, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Pokken Tournament, and Xenoblade Chronicles soon enough.
