Why does a first year release schedule for first party products change anything? First party devs and those Sony is publishing have access to the tech builds long before other publishers, and Sony is using cross gen development to support both of their consoles so resources aren't split.

If I was talking about total amount of games ever made for the console then the number of years would matter. But I'm not.

Also, there have been like four Wii U p...

Also, about four out of the 8 or so games on Sony's list are PS4 ports (GoT, Nioh, Nioh 2, and Death Stranding), so the remaster/port argument is doing you no favors. Similar for MS as well (three age of empires remasters and Microsoft flight simulator port on Series consoles)

You need to quit obsessing over imagined budgets of games to determine whether or not those are good, first of all. Does Splatoon 3 have a smaller budget than Ratchet and Clank? We have no idea. We don't have that information, so assuming is baseless. You're going off of no information besides the power of one machine over another, really.

Second, no major games since 2019? Really? Maybe you don't particularly care for them, but there have been some major Ninten...

Only three games had Mario in it. Take those out and they still released twice what Sony did.

Lol oh and of course the disagrees despite there being facts. Go ahead. Keep at it fanboys.

I don't see how Nintendo would have a lower score than the other two when Nintendo released as many first party releases as those two combined and had notable third party exclusive releases such as SMT V and Monster Hunter Rise.

Nintendo had more first party releases than both MS and Sony combined. What droughts?

Clearly this isn't so for everyone, hence why BotW is both critically and commercially such a success as well as being beloved by fans.

There was an article I read a week ago or so that calculated all the "best Zelda games" lists from major news outlets to determine which Zelda game got the most amount of number ones. Despite having articles in the mix that didn't even include BotW due to it not being out at the time of rankings (such as eurogamers last &...

Switch hit this mark faster than any other console aside from the DS. If they can get 900k in the next week and 1.7M in the next two weeks it'll outsell the lifetime figures of Wii and PS1 respectively, which I think will happen.

Very surprised at Series performance in Asia. They are still not as high as the competition, but they are doing a heck of a lot better than their previous console.

@Xblade

PSN and Xbox storefronts have also gone down in the past. For example, many users reported significant problems with PSN after the launch of the PS5 (in addition, websites like Walmart broke when preorders went live). Companies can't always anticipate the exact load they are going to have, and, again, Nintendo's sales are backloaded during the year. Consoles sold in October, November, and December (which are projected to be about 10M this year) could mostly ...

Other storefronts get slammed too. Even huge ones like Best Buy and Amazon get slammed during busy seasons. In addition, Nintendo's hardware sales are notable backloaded during the year (e.g. about 50% of their sales come from the November and December months where it's only about 30-35% for the other two consoles), so it's more likely people are buying it for Christmas gifts.

So it's not only because, there are other factors as well. Of course, putting mor...

In no particular order:
Breath of the Wild sequel, God of War Ragnarok, Starfield, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Mario + Rabbids 2, Dead Space Remake, Baldurs Gate 3, and Forspoken

I don't really think it matters, honestly. Switch will probably end up higher than both of them in the end. Being the third highest selling console of all time is nothing to sneeze at.

I agree. Though the Xbox One wasn't a fantastic seller, if the Genesis, N64, and SNES aren't considered flops why should the XB1 be?

Hopefully PS5 and XSX sell better than their predecessors.

Not sure if it's a classic yet (I think so, it is over 17 years old now), but the Chronicles of Riddick Escape from Butcher Bay I can't find ANYWHERE digitally. Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places, but I feel like that game should be available. It was amazing for it's time graphically and it would be cool to get to see it again.

I don't have a PS5 yet, so I'll be playing this on my PS4 Pro and I'm glad that it still looks really good. Cross gen development this gen is better than it was last gen for sure.

Glad people know how to hit that disagree button! Literally no evidence suggests it would be 25M for PS5. Especially since Sony hasn't sold 25M consoles in a single year ever, let alone in their first year. But keep those disagrees coming. It just shows me the community here knows nothing about game sales.

1633d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

I'm sure PS5 and XSX would be higher, but they wouldn't be that high. The first year on the market is typically one of the lower selling ones in comparison. In addition, no console ever has sold over 20M in it's first year on the market. I mean, the PS4's best selling year was only 20M.

Sales would have probably looked more like 17M for PS5 and 12-13M for XSX (which would be better than their predecessors, btw), where right now it is looking like 14M and 9-...

"I'm glad you agree, forcing the issue was wrong."

Playstation "forced" their users to not have crossplay. Whereas this allows it's users the decision to whether the user themselves wants it or not. Options are always good.

So if you have a problem with "forcing" then you would have also had a problem with the way Sony handled things. But you don't because you have a clear bias.

@nitro @pete

If they make it to where only those who have both games get the upgrade option then that would be $40 + $10 for the upgrade, right?

IDK, we will see if they bring it back, but I have a feeling they will personally. If not this is pretty scummy.
