They'd be mad at Anonymous the first 3 or so times but if it became a regular occurrence it won't take long for the blame to be shifted to sony for not dropping their case.

You sure about that? Depending how good they are tbh and how well they've covered their tracks but imagine if they were big enough and good enough to take down PSN whenever they want within a certain timeframe? If they kept doing it eventually sony would have to give in to pressure and drop the geohot drama to save a backlash from their own fans.
Ofcourse it's extremely unlikely it'll get to that stage but it certainly isn't an impossibility.

And you know this for certain how? I know loads of peole who are over 25 who would love to bring down the suits maaan and crush the big corporations. It does sound like the work of young adults but to call them losers makes me chuckle as to be able to pull of what they did, they have to be far more resourceful at least than 90% of the people calling them out as losers.
CS is still the greatest skill gap in any fps game to date. Watching videos of some of the things the "pro" gamers can do is just insane.
Yeah if I remember it wasn't until at least a year before POE was released for BF2 (the first major mod I remember coming out for BF2).
With the graphical capabilities of BF3, it could be quite a bit longer but hot damn, it's mods like Project Reality and formerly Desert Combat that really increase the replay value of the series.

Isn't Guy Fawkes more of a UK thing though? Surely you can't expect Americans (assuming they are American) to know the Guy Fawkes story.
Maybe not quite as huge but I reckon they'll be big enough. I'm sure the project reality team will move over to BF3 anyway and hopefully they can recreate such maps.
It's mods like this which remind me why i'm investing in a new pc so i'm not stuck with the console version of BF3.
Finally an opinion article which isn't filled with flat out ignorance on the whole situation. Understandable that people here are angry at these groups for taking down PSN but you could literally grab some popcorn and a beer while you go through some of the replies and laugh at some of the crazily stupid replies. Personally, I loved the justice crusader ones the best.

I didn't mind the doom movie tbh and thought the rock done a good job on it.. he looked the part and sounded the part but the jury is still out on whether he can actually act but lets be honest, the cod movie isn't going to be a masterpiece of intelligent tarrantino-esque dialogue.
Did it really take down the whole PSN? I just thought it took down the websites. While it's true that it hurts you guys a bit (one night without gaming is hardly the end of the world but it's pretty embarrassing for Sony so from a saving face point of you, I think they got the worst out of it.
I'm well aware of this thanks but generally speaking, comparing what these guys with the likes of Bin Laden is pretty OTT.
