But the backgrounds and effects deffinately go to DOA4. When looking at water levels, we se relfection and refraction effects on DOA4. VF5 has a crazy water splashing effect that while more ambitious, looks fake overall and lacks any reflection.
Both have superb characters, but VF5 has more shiney "sweat". I guess that's more realistic.

I think this guy has his facts backwards. Since the 360 GPU is 2 generations ahead of the PS3's, it should be the PS3 that uses software rendering to acomplish specail effects. This has been stated numerous times on the PS3's launch software. The GPU cannot render all the effects, and outsources to the CPU. 4xAA and HDR are free on the 360 GPU, so what is this talk of a "blur filter"?

Many of the PS3 games have the CPU aid the GPU. The CELL was primarily designed for video and rendering. Once Sony took a look at the 360, they desperately needed more power and slapped the 7600-7800GT chip in. This chip was released in 2005 for the PC market, so it is not even close to the performance of the 360 GPU. That is why the CELL helps out.

Will be out in the summer. The cheapest Blu-Ray player will still be $600. That fact alone will change things significantly, along with porn. You Sony boys are quick to call the battle over with your overbloated "sales figures". It's just heating up. I do think this year will decide the format war, but it is far from over.
