UMD was Sony's efforts to make a "movie walkman". They were promising to release stand-alone movie players if the format took off. All the hip kids would have one to enjoy movies on the go. But UMD failed, most likely due to costing as much as a DVD and not as wide of a selection.

That was a great read. The only way I can tell the difference is when websites show screen grabs side by side, and you can see HD-DVD's marginal superiorty. But with cheaper players nad movies, I think the author was correct in predicting an increase in HD-DVD sales.

This game will be a sleeper lost in the crouded 2007/2008 360 line-up. With almost too many good games to choose from, a game really has to stand out.

Remember the $200 HD-DVD players will be released in the summer. The cheapest Blu-Ray player will be the Sony $600 oneOR A PS3. I think this year will be the true battle between Blu-Ray and HD-DVD, as they are approaching the magic price points that consumers will actually purchase them.
