Except when spinning a disc up. I guess that's a disadvantage of high transfer rate compared to a 2X Poo-Ray. I'll take a little noise and quick load times over playstations traditional looooong load times.
My Wii isn't all that quiet either. It beeps and makes clicking noises in the drive, and you can still hear the fan.

They weren't telling the truth when they said the PS3 would be 3X as powerful as a 360? That the true HD era starts with Sony? Play in 4D?
The other day I read an old Newsweek article for the announcement of the PS2. That was a good laugh for anyone who remembers. "PS2 is just like jacking into the Matrix" They have a tradition of severely overhyping and lying at Sony.
Plus I don't remember the PS2 ever being superior or equal to a PC at the time of launch.
I do think those developers are underestimating the GPU is the 360, as the R600 hasn't even been released yet, and it's based on the 360 GPU. the same can't be said for the PS3, as it's GPU was released in early 2005 for the PC. At least the 360 titles looked equal or better than their PC counterparts when released. (COD2 and Oblivion)

The PS3 has far more exclusives and originals llined up for 2009 when developers start to truely harness the PS3's power!

The porn industy has chosen HD-DVD not only for superior picture and sound but for production costs. Porn does not have the sales of high-profile movie releases, so they have to maximize the profits. Blu-Ray is stupid-expensive and will yield a much lower profit. Coupled with a larger install base of HD-DVD, you have a winner. And don't forget the porn industy was a major factor in VHS defeating Betamax.
Why are you all butt-hurt? Oh...because you get nothing! I surely welcome another exclusive and original 360 game. I also think it will come close to the graphical benchmark set by the PC version.
More 360 exclusive goodness. Look for a sloppy Crysis port for the PS3 about 9 months later with everything downgraded!

Sony used this to take a stab at the 360. 1080p is the only true hi-def format if you as Sony, but not many of their games support this. Truth is, 360 did 1080p first.
The PS3 is showing it's flaws noe. The weaker GPU does not perform well the higher you go in resolution, as seen in PC gaming. No matter what DJ may say, the 360 GPU is a generation ahead of the PS3's and substantially more powerful.

You should all go buy those PS3's right now! Sony told me they have some killer games lined up for 2008. We're talking big sequals here buddy. None of that original crap! While you wait, please purchase and enjoy our fine selection of Blu-Ray titles, such as Crank and UltraViolet.
The 360 is barely behind their 6 year old system that's a quarter of the price? 360 titles all over the top seller list, with GOW beaten only by a multi-platform title and a $30 DS game? Last place in hardware sales with systems sitting on shelves?

I'd at least expected Resistance to be on the top 10 for December, as it's about the only reason to buy a PS3 right now.

The RSX is based on the 7800 series, which was released in early 2005. A few modifications to an existing chip does not mean it's a new chip. They brought nothing new, just a few additions and reductions in different areas to make it cost effective and viable for a console.

trust "research" by a blu-ray exclusive studio? And "majority" is hardly the word. Most studiossupport box formats, besides Fox, Sony, and Disney. They will come around (except for Sony/MGM) when HD-DVD cements it's dominance. Why pay extra money for a lesser product? HD-DVD has every right to win, with many more affordable players being released.

They're sitting on the shelves in evey store here. hell, gamestop will give $100 of if you trade in a PS2. They're desparate to move these!
The sad truth is I have visited 6 stores in my area with PS3 demo stations, and every one is broken. I don't remember the 360 demo units breaking like that.
