A new Timespliters should just build of its predecessors by being a content rich GoldenEye-esque shooter.
Halo: CE, Gears of War, Crysis & Uncharted 2 blew me away the first time I played them. I have played many pretty games this gen, but none have given me that "holy crap these graphics" feeling that earlier games did likely due to the increasingly slower progression of game graphics.
Wouldn't it make more sense for Ninja Theory to just make a spiritual successor to DMC?
The Golden-Esque shooters are sub-type of shooter that I hope gets revived. Timesplitters Future Perfect and Perfect Dark Zero where casual shooters done right, easy to pick up and play but no skill gap compression in the MP.
Also to many gamers a game is either terrible or amazing and there is nothing inbetween.
Playground was confirmed years ago to be working on non-Forza game.
Undead Labs has had success with State of Decay despite the semi-polarizing reviews of the series. Undead Labs like Playground also had a long term relationship with MS. Undead Labs needs access to better programmers. With Microsoft owning both Havok and Simplygon, first-party games should have no excuses for being unoptimized.
I understand why MS bought Playground, Ninja Theory, and Undead Labs. However, Compulsion Games to me was an unproven studio, I found its purchase to be odd.
Non-disclosures where signed and established years ago. I personally, think games should not be announced until they are 1 year from launch. Playground Game's Open-World RPG (very likely Fable) probably has a dev cycle of 4-5 years.
You play as Bedouin Woman in Battlefield 1's campaign, which really didn't make sense. The Bedouin are very culturally strict and women fighting is a culture taboo to them. Dice is pushing for diversity and ignoring history. I was told by EA not to buy there game if i find the out of place inclusive of women in their game to be annoying and inappropriate for the setting, so I won't be buying Battlefield V.
I have owned the MCC since December 2014, from my personal experience the most severe matchmaking issues occurred from launch to early 2015. Calling the MCC in its current state broken is hyperbole.
For some reason I don't believe in EA's statement. Multiple rushed games, overpriced season passes, super saiyan level microtransactions. EA is stuck in a cycle, they screw up then "apologize" then screw up again.
Launching third party AAA games into gamepass would not cost effective for either MS and external publishers.
Oh thanks, sometimes I forget that there are physical versions of PC games.
Odd there already are physical editions of Recore Definitive edition, Zoo Tycoon and Super Lucky Tale published by Microsoft. I am also certain only of the listed games ReCore and Zoo Tycoon are owned by Microsoft. Microsoft in the past made publishing deals with THQ (the original THQ) for their IPs, so assume this deal is being done to reduce publishing cost for MS while allowing THQ to make some profit via outsourced publishing.
I personally don't see either of these games doing as well as their predecessors. Battlefield 5 already has lower than expected pre-orders and a hefty amount of fan backlash. Black Ops 4 also has a lot ill reception from fans and the media. Black Ops 4 will likely outsell Battlefield 5, but I expect it not to do as well as Black Ops 3.
Dark Souls 2 *
Oops,I actually meant Dark Souls 2
Sly Cooper 3
Dead Space 3
Jak 2
Resistance 2
God of War: Ascension
Gears of War: Judgment
Dark Souls 3
I do think that engine PS3/360 games did mange to catch up to (but not reach) Crysis 1 in terms of graphics due to remarkable optimization. I personally think Crysis 3, The Last of Us, Halo 4, Gears of War 3, Uncharted 3 and Killzone 3 were the best looking console games last gen. However, I fully agree with that Crysis has aged remarkably well, the game still hold up well, and Crysis 3 (2013) on PC is still one of the best looking games on the market.
