The Preston Garvey guests in Fallout 4 started to drive me towards insanity... guests with significant story would repeat. Plus, the RPG elements in Fallout 4 are dialed back from 3 and I didn’t like the story as much. I actuallly put close to 100 hrs into New Vegas across three playthrough attempts, however I could never complete the main guests.
Its Activision we are talking about. I was interested in the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, however, I am a physical game purchaser and don't want to have games missing from my blu-ray.
The Game of The Year Edition of Fallout 3 was one of my favorite games last gen. Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 4 didn't click with me like Fallout 3.
"When your game isn’t about war, do we still need all the bloody stumps?" - Polygon
Polygon keeps lowering the gaming journalism bar.
Bunch of morons, reviewing bombing Shadow of the Tomb Raider isn’t going to help it sell better. Since when does high sales equate to guality? Some of very well recieved and critically acclaimed games fail to sell well, despite there very objective quality.
Dark Souls was never a particularly good looking game,it looked very dated upon first release. The remastered versions and the switch port of Dark Souls are all subpar technically.
The author doesn’t actually critically or analytically explain why said sequels are better than there successors.
I personally self-debate whether Half-Life 2 is actually better than Half-Life for its time. The original half-life has better enemies,is more challenging, and was arguably more innovative for its time than Half-Life 2.
Activision bought the servers at a discount price.
I think another underlying issue with BF1’s campaign is the design level which is plan weak. The War Stories in BF1 too me are just an easy way to apply stories to recycled conquest maps.
Why would someone expect a remarkable campaign from Dice? Look at Dice’s recent FPS campaign track record: BF4 (dumb AI & generally all round mediocre and short), BFV (terrible AI, conquest maps as missions, short, hit and mission stories and a lot of over the top historically inaccurate nonsense),Battlefront 2 (Terrible AI, mp maps recycled for missions, short & poor story).
EA and Dice always overstate the campaigns of their games, it just marketing meant to woo...
From what I understand Bethesda has at times been ignorant to lore established in Fallout 1-2. I think this ignorance is due to Bethesda not being the original creator of the Fallout series.
MS doesn't even own the Splinter Cell IP, you should be directing your first statement towards Ubisoft.
I disagree about her "dealing with haters" . Fans of the Witcher (including non-whites fans) had valid criticisms of the initial decisions to cast Ciri as a non-white person. I am black, and I am getting tired of the forced diversity, BS. Heck I have even seen clips of a show set in medieval England where black actors were caste to play medieval English people...
It looks near identical to Fallout 4 since much of Fallout 76 is very likely recycled from the earlier game lol.
Polygon with another article that helps further cement modern gaming journalism as a joke. How is having a variety of death animations for a character dated? Also, why is Lara’s gender suddenly an issue, male characters have brutal death animations also, just look at Doom (2016),the Gears of War series, God of War...
Other companies can make high fidelity generally polished open world games, why can’t Bethesda?
Bethesda is notorious for jank, bugs, etc. in their games. Outside of Doom (2016), Wolfenstein 2 and very likely Rage 2, Bethesda games have subpar visual fidelity and often questionable optimization.
How is this MP only game so big ?
If this acquisition is true, MS could potentially have two studios dedicated to the development of 1st Party RPGs.
There is a fair number of Xbox first party games that MS still has yet to add to game pass and BC.
