I’m not sure why people are so surprised. Devs have been showcasing cutscenes, and modified, selective capture as “gameplay” for years now.
Microsoft should have never stressed their show as having gameplay reveals. Developers have become very reluctant to show gameplay during initial title reveals.
Diminishing returns, it’s been readily observable for multiple generations now.

My excitement for the Last of Us 2 has dropped substantially. My excitement dropped not due to the leaking of the story, but the supposed story itself. The gameplay and levels could be amazing though, so I maintain some optimism.
People are getting copyright strikes on YouTube for simply talking about the Last of Us 2 leaks. Several channels that received copyright claims didn't include footage,audio or images of the Last of Us 2 in their videos. They're were wrongfully struck with copyright claims. Companies can't copyright a person's right to talk about a topic (e.g. Last of Us 2 leaks).
Its odd this game doesn't have a simultaneous Xbox and PC release. Maybe dev-team size was a factor.

Despite myself not caring about the Wii as a game console, I it always looked very nice. The Wii looked oddly high-tech, more high-tech than it actually was. As the Wii was essentially an up-locked GameCube.
If this mystery title isn’t a Perfect Dark title I will be little shocked for the following reasons:
1. Both Phil Spencer and Ken Lobb hinted they were interested in bring back Perfect Dark with a greater emphasis on stealth.
2. The Initiative’s logo resembles the DataDyne logo from Perfect Dark.
3. There were rumours of a Perfect Dark reboot from around the Initiative’s founding in ~2017/2018

That's nothing we haven't scene in other mature games. Hopefully critics don't attack Cyberpunk 2077 over its content.
