I couldn’t past the beta of BF V, to me it felt like a re-skin of BF1.

Ubisoft just has to make nearly everything big and open world.

Beyond Good and Evil 2, in my opinion was one of the most poorly thought out follow-up titles I have seen.

Yes, I shouldn’t display any critical thinking or observational skills. I shouldn’t point out the obvious technical shortcomings of the Outer Words compared to other games. I’m only a gamer. A gamer, who couldn’t understand anything about hardware or software because I don’t make video games.

Using your logic a person who drives a car, but doesn’t make them shouldn’t be able to say “that their specific car isn’t fuel efficient”. After all the common driver doesn’t make ca...

I played the Outer Worlds on my base Xbox One around the same time as Gears 5. The difference in graphical and asset quality between the two games is massive. The two titles look almost a full generation apart, despite being running on the same engine. The Outer, is arguably less impressive than Fallout 4 from a technical stand point. Fallout 4 had a more impressive and dynamic world than the Outer Worlds.

HD remaster implies making the game look better and sharper. PPI needs to be high on small screens in order to maintain their sharpness and reduce individual pixel visibility at close range. The Switch and Switch lite have a low PPI. Thegamer.com keeps writing nonsense.

How was the Outer Worlds levels limited by hardware? There are games with more impressive worlds than the Outer Worlds on current gen. The Outer Worlds was nothing special in terms of levels and quest design.

I have trouble believing the PS4 and Xbox One where limiting factors for a few reasons. Firstly, obsidian is porting the game to the Switch, a console with about 1/4 the power of its competitors. Secondly, the Outer World isn’t technically impressive at all. The Witcher 3 (2015) an early generation open world is much more impressive than the Outer Worlds. Also, Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most demanding games on the market, with way better graphics and technical aspects than the Outer...

The Xb1/PS4 can often run games at medium-high settings with 900p-1080p resolution at 30 FPS. The Switch, however, often runs games at what would be considered low (or even below low) settings. The Switch arguably can’t run games like RDR 2, one of the most demanding on the market, but the base XB1 and PS4 can.

A better title would be “Obsidian Entertainment Hires Writer of the Outer Wilds”.

Halo’s grunts aren’t that small, they are about the size of a female gorilla, with armoured skin, claws and strong arms. A grunt in halo novel disembowel and dismembered a man.

It’s too early. AAA 3rd-party games have not been added quickly to Gamepass for a reason. Quickly adding AAA wouldn’t be cost effective (unless the game flopped outright). Doom Eternal is selling too well to be added into Gamepass. The licensing fees Microsoft collects from 3rd party games are too large to be subsidized, unless the price of game pass was increased.

They can’t just ditch the new characters. I actually thought Del, Kait and JD to had good character development. And Gears 5 had some of the best Marcus moments in the series.

2270d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

The author refers to Marcus as a dumb brute and the rest of delta squad as gruff, grunty soldiers, which simply isn’t true. Every member of Delta Squad had well developed personalities and the weren’t depicted as brutish or unintelligent. It’s almost like the author played through the games without paying attention to the actual story.

Except, the Switch can’t run demanding games well. Red Dead Redemption 2, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Metro Exodus are more graphically intense and more demanding than the Witcher 3. The Switch essentially can’t even run Red Dead Redemption 2, game that is arguably the most demanding 3rd party title this gen on Xbox One and PS4.

The Switch ports of games like the Witcher 3, Doom (2016), Wolfenstein: New Colossus, are essentially heavily down scaled to the point where they don't perform or look near comparable to the PS4 and XB1 counterparts . I don't understand why these switch ports are so heavily praised; they don't run particularly well. PS4 and XB1 games that run at 25fps are lambasted... yet switch games with heavy deeps, muddy textures and long loading aren't .

In my opinion:
Gears 3, Gears 2, Gears 5, Gears 1, Gears 4, Gears 1:UE, and finally Judgement. I would place Gears 1 higher, but it has aged more harshly than the others.

@Sleekjunior25

Nintendo backwards compatibility has gotten worse overtime.

The Wii U can actually play GameCube games. However, Nintendo didn’t include a disk drive in the Wii U that was compatible with micro disks.

The Switch has no backwards compatibility. The lack of direct backwards compatibility makes sense due to the change from disks to cartridges. However, the ridiculous prices of the Wii U to switch ports is unacceptable. ...
