I just finished Ori and the Will of the Wisp. While the game concluded the story of its characters.I would like to see another game set in the series would.
Microsoft has released several new owned IPs this gen (ReCore, Quantum Break, Sea iog Thieves,Ori.etc.) and non-owned (Cuphead, Ryse, and Sunset Overdrive) Of Microsoft’s new IPs, only Ori has been very well received. And no new Microsoft IP has had success comparable to Gears of War Or Halo for their respective gener...
Nintendo gets free passes.
Wii mainly sold super well due to it being so cheap. The Wii U tanked due to its pricing, poor marketing, and inconsistent 1st party releases. The Switch has strong first party but dated hardware.
The Switch was a run-off success due to Nintendo combining the handheld and home console. Remember even when the Wii U was floundering, its handheld counterpart, the 3DS still performed well. Nintendo’s first party games have ridiculous attachment rates. The Switch will keep selling well ...
I don’t hate any or these games, but my list would be:
Dead Space 3
Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm
Sly Cooper 3
Perfect Dark Zero (this is technically a prequel)
Gears of War: Judgement (again a prequel)
God of War: Ascension (again a prequel)
@Voodoopower Killzone 2 doesn’t have better models or textures than Halo 4 or Gears 3. Halo 4 arguably has better models than Gears 3 also. Killzone 2 has low res textures that don’t look good up close.
Gears of War 3, Halo 4, Crysis 3 and several other late gen 360 games looks better than Killzone 2.....
Tencent is a holding company, they lead money and invest in studios and projects in order to obtain a return in investment. Tencent will provide funding for System Shocks projects as long as they get a return on their investment(s).
There are reports about some weird glitches in Halo 2 classic on PC.
Microsoft announced Everwild a new IP late last year. Ori and the Will of the Wisp (a sequel to the most acclaimed new Xbox IP this gen) released a few months ago. Sea of thieves (released 2018), regardless of its initial reception, is a successful new IP from Xbox. Microsoft had had a good mix of new and old IPs this gen.
The initiative’s game is probably 2 or possibly even 3 years into development. I think the rumours and indirect statements from Phil Spencer point towards The Initiative rebooting Perfect Dark. We may get conformation of what the studio is working on in July.Even if the Initiative isn’t working on Perfect Dark, I firmly believe their new title is a sci-fi game.
I live in Canada and for the most part the game section at the Walmart I shop at was sold out of consoles. Two weeks ago their were no consoles available when I visited (on a Sunday). I went shopping again this week and there were only a three PS4s and a a Switch Lite left.
Epic didn’t bother to finish the game.
@RabbitFly nothing about that character model looked next gen to me in terms of modeling, animation or textures.
The character model of the game character was never strongly focused on during the Unreal 5 demonstration. The character looked good, but it looked current gen. I think several current gen games have better models than the character of the demo. However, had more emphasis been put on the character; Epic likely could have made a “photorealistic” character.
A key issue with with video game graphics, in my opinion, is the presence of visual unevenness. Some assets look way be...
It’s unfortunate that Epic no longer creates AAA titles. I wonder what an Unreal Tournament “5” could look like.
People can play the games they like on their preferred system (or systems). Not everything has to be tied to the console war nonsense.
I think too many of these articles have been written. Firstly, the games at inside Xbox May 2020 where 3rd party. The lesson is don't trust 3rd parties to show proper gameplay. Many companies are hesitant to do proper gameplay reveals.
Sony may have paid epic to do a tech demo to showcase PS5 performance. Unreal tech has been a staple multiple-form engine for since the PS2/GC/XB era. Sony’s studios may stick to using various engines. However, it wouldn’t surprise me if Decima became the main engine for Sony studios.
Unreal 5 is a multi-platform engine and the Xbox series X is more powerful than the PS5.
I still think people are obsessing over 4K resolution too much. 4K taxes hardware heavily, and processing power could be used elsewhere. Ray tracing is taxing too. Why not aim for games that are 1080-1440p with ray tracing and 60fps. We will likely see a lot of 4K 30 FPS Series X and PS5 games.
