EA tried to market Battlefield 1 as an epic WW1 period piece. It was really just a hybrid of stripped down Battlefield 4 and Star Wars Battlefront (2015) disguised as WW1 shooter.
Some people are trying to paint Epic as a good guy? But are they actually pushing for Apple and Google to decrease they sales cut on the store? Or is Epic just trying to further enfranchise themselves by making Fortnite even more profitable on mobile devices?
Why didn’t Epic try the same stunt consoles which also take a cut from store sales of ~ 30%? Had Epic tried to pull the same stunt on the PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo online stores, the previously mentioned companies...
The PS5 has a cheaper GPU and CPU than the XSX. However, it’s RAM and SSD are likely more expensive than those of competitor. I don’t think their will be $100 dollar price disparity between Sony and Microsoft new consoles (ignoring the Series S).
I highly doubt the all digital will outsell the standard PS5. The all digital PS5 will likely only be $25-50 cheaper, with the set backs of no used and no physical PS4 games. Plus the all digital lacks blu-ray support. A lot of disc-based PS4 games were sold this gen. So I don’t think people want to abandon the physical game market.

I have not seen a single one of the major gaming sites report a $500 million budget for Halo:Infinite. The supposed $500 million budget is not verifiable, as it’s likely a fabrication based on hyperbole.
I hope they mean weapon skins and not actual weapons? Unless the exclusive weapon is a gag weapon.
Plenty of games have been delayed by 6 months or more. Doom Eternal, Cyberpunk 2077, The Last of Us 2, The Witcher 3, etc. All the previously mentioned games probably benefited from there delays,
What Epic did sounds like [or simply is] a blatant breach of policy and an associated contract.
Why do Epic think they should only follow the rules in certain situations? Are they going to try the same stunt with Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo ?
4k is very expensive as it’s hard on GPU, CPU and RAM. The PS5 [and Series X] have more balanced hardware than their predecessors. However, I think performance and actual graphical fidelity should be aimed for over 4k and 4k dynamic resolutions.
Alex presented a detailed analysis to support his argument. He also provided examples from other titles that can be adversely affected by real-time lighting issues. That being said, Alex also pointed out that some effects need to be improved. Plus, the object pop-in needs to be resolved.
The cost of renewing licenses vs the revenue that the game is earning.
Many people are just “concern trolling” as they don’t care about nor have interest in Halo or Xbox.
Maybe the Series X should be delayed until spring of next year. Their are global economic issues and a lot of people won’t have excess money to spend this fall and winter.
I think Halo Infinite development issues probably stem from system specific optimization issues. 343i has to have the game running on the XB1, XB1X, Series S & X, plus PC. I think the delay could insure that Halo Infinite launches with ray tracing (on the PC and Series X) , improved textures and post processing.
Consoles are generally more convenient than PC. I could buy a gaming rig if I wanted. But, find consoles tend to offer good performance for their cost and you don’t have to worry about drivers and various software.
The prequels regardless of their flaws provided significant universe building for the Star Wars franchise. The sequel trilogy however, instead retread things that already happened. The sequels didn’t really add much to the existing story aside from adding lore breaking elements and retelling previous plots beats.
The sequel trilogy is comparable to crappy modern-day covers of classic songs. You have heard it before. And it was done better in the past with more creativity, ...
I believe Prime is the best selling Metroid game with 3 million + copies sold. However, it’s sequels didn’t do anywhere those numbers. The Metroid franchise has generally never been a consistently high selling franchise, it’s somewhat of niche series. However, it’s good Nintendo continues to support the franchise despite It’s generally low sales.
Aside: Anyone else think their should be a Metroid collection released for switch ?
I wish more work was put into the graphics of Dark Souls 1and 2 remasters. Neither game looked particularly good when they initially released on the 360 and PS3. The 1080p 60FPS upgrade wasn’t visually enough to warrant calling the Dark Souls 1 and 2 current ports “remasters”.
The “harsh reality” of WW1 was not shown by BF1. There is mission where the player is wearing tank-like armour that is repeatedly stated as being near impervious to damage. Metal armour existed in WW1, but was quickly abandoned as it wasn’t effective against bullets or explosives. Or the other reality breaking mission we’re you play as a man with superhuman speed....
BF1 streamed down the guns mechanics making all weapons easier to use. Classes were marginalized and team...
