Outriders didn’t get the best reception when it launched. Will I think Gamepass helped Outriders to reach more players, the games seems to have not kept a strong player base. Multiplayer focused games, whether pay-to-play or free-to-play are most profitable when they have good player retention.
Most of the time getting an assassination in PvP got you killed. Some of the assassinations where pretty cool. Favourites of mine were the air and gravity hammer assassinations.
Metroid Dread might be able to surpass the sales of Metroid Prime (~3 million sales), if it maintains steady sales post-launch.

Bayonetta 3 was announced almost 4 years with a teaser. I honestly don’t Bayonetta 3 entered full development until after it was announced.
I hope in the future a Quake is given another chance as an arena shooter. Quake Champions, likely would have been more successful if it didn’t have hero mechanics. Having better servers would have also been beneficial. I think their is gross lack of old school arena shooters.

I recently played through Black for the first time. It was pretty enjoyable once you get a few missions. Black’s gameplay is very bombastic and not over burdened with set pieces.Also, I just replayed Dead Space on Series X. Dead Space has aged surprisingly well. Even the visual still look pretty good, even though the texture don’t hold up well when viewed up close.
Halo is an arena shooter. In all halo games with the exception of Reach and 4 there are no load outs. Halo 1-3,5 and Infinite all focus on weapons on map gameplay. The Halo FPS seem to bridge classic arena shooters such as Quake and Unreal and modern military shooters.
A bunch of Sony’s first party games are gross-gen too.

MLB the Show 21 on Gamepass day one was probably a promotional deal. The franchise had never been on Xbox before. Having the title featured on Gamepass probably allowed MLB 21 to reach a wider audience. I
I don’t think Microsoft paid a large sum for MLB on Gamepass. Nor, do I think MLB 21 would drive up Gamepass subscriptions. To me it seems Microsoft is aiming to make Gamepass more-and-more first-party-focused overtime.
People shouldn’t expect Gamepass to include big budget AAA 3rd party games at launch. Studios and publishers would ask MS to pay a high premium for new, big budget, day one Gamepass AAA.
GTA was ranked as the 13th highest grossing game franchise of all time a few years ago ( https://www.titlemax.com/di... It’s probably higher up the list now. Crazy how R* has been able to generate so many sales of GTA , despite the franchise being relatively infrequently released.
Why are so many people giving Nintendo free passes on their pricing practices. The Switch OLED is not a mid-gen refresh, nor is it a significant upgrade from the original Switch in functionality. The Switch OLED should be replacing the original Switch as a standard model.

I think Shadow of the Tomb Raider would have been the best game in the series had it featured more combat situations. The Tomb Raider reboot trilogy’s biggest flaw is its story telling. The story across all three games is clunky.
