Why are people assuming that 3rd party games are doomed on Xbox due to a 4% drop on profit? Game delays and the long-term attachment rates of specific franchises to Xbox need to be taken in consideration. Also, PlayStation has double the user base of Xbox. Besides, Gamepass would probably affect 1st party sales more than 3rd party sales. It is likely not cost effective for MS or its 3rd party partners to launch big budget AAA games on Gamepass.
It would make more sense for Nintendo to sell retro titles for $5-10. Steam and Xbox live regularly sell older titles at for roughly $10. The biggest problem with Nintendo, isn’t their underdeveloped or dated hardware. Nintendo biggest problem is their pricing. Nintendo charges a premium for their games and products.
I remember many Battlefield 4 matches were the top players on the team opposing the host would constantly get kicked. I’ve even seen hosts boot teammates who were outperforming them. One time I killed a host with a power weapon and got booted, lol.
Battlefield 1’s enemy AI was dumber than the AI present in Golden Eye 64.
Microsoft during the original Xbox-era tried to create a mascot for the platform with Blinx and Voodoo Vince. Master Chief essentially became Xbox’s mascot, despite not being designed to be so.
No would ever think Valve would make: Portal, Portal 2, a controller, compact PCs, VR headsets, Half-Life: Alyx, and a handheld gaming PC before Half-Life 3.
I did enjoy making weapons in Dead Space 3. However, Dead Space 3 lacks tension. Ammo was far too easy to manage. Also, the weapon crafting allowed the player to create some rather overpowered [or overly effective] weapons.
I have never once seen people going to the park to play video games. Switch really aren’t that portable anyway, they are awkward to hold for an extended period of time.
The facial render is a noticeable step up from Gears 5 real time cinematics.
Here's JD face model for a comparison:

The Development Team consists of only two people. Maybe the dev team initially only knew to code for Direct X based machines ?
In Unreal Championship and Timesplitters characters had different base stats. However, stay differential often had drawbacks,e.g. fast characters had low health.
I still stand by arena shooters have equal [or near-equal] starts, lack of customization and weapons on map. You need to keep in mind Golden Eye and Perfect Dark were designed for the N64. Timesplitters a spiritual successor to Golden Eye was much faster spaced.
This isn't an arena shooter. When I was younger games like Halo, Quake, Unreal, Timesplitters, 007 Goldeneye and Perfect Dark where considered arena shooters. You didn't have classes or loadout customization. Plus, weapons where on map, with starting weapons being an exception.
The Series X version likely isn’t a full native port to how the system handled backwards compatibility. Or making a native Series X port was much easier than producing a full PS5 port.
I think the Steam Deck will loose favour with PC-enthusiast due to it not having high performance. The steam Deck can probably handle most modern games at mostly medium settings, 30fps and 720-800p. However, older and lower spec modern games should be able to run at 60 FPS on the Steam Deck.
It will be interesting how the Steam Deck handles RDR 2, Cyperpunk 2077 and Control compared when compared to consoles. All the previously mentioned titles can’t run on Switch and are k...
I have both current gen Sony and Xbox consoles. Both have their strengths and weakness. The increased 1st party game prices, inconsistent upgrade fees, and the lack of smart delivery isn’t very “for the players”.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart’s rookie explorer mode makes the player unkillable during combat. Why weren’t people up in arms about rookie explorer mode ?
"It’s hard to think about, but last year it’s been about a year since it was released by Ghost of Tsushima."
“56 million dead foxes”, you mean 56 million foxes petted.
Nintendo ever since the N64 has had issues with 3rd party. A variable combo of either: dated hardware, storage issues, underdeveloped online, weird controllers or high licensing fees, has caused issues for 3rd parties on Nintendo consoles.
