I would be very bummed if they dropped the current story arch. Halo 5 while having a weak story is part of an interesting story arch that was established by Halo. Multiple Cortanas could make sense. Cortana as an AI can fragment and she fragmented near the end of Halo 4.

The armor change could be explained by Chief replacing his suit.

7/10 for me, much better than last year's and way better than EA show. I would have liked more gameplay for Halo Infinite and Battletoads. New studio announcements were great, but their was too much 3rd party content. No big surprises besides the new studios and battletoads.

Halo Infinite = Halo 6 since Master Chief was shown, and the Halo ring is likely the one from the ending of Halo Wars 2 & Halo 5:G's legendary ending.

Lots of cash lol..... Please let the studio stick to games that they are good at (action adventure games) and don't force them into any.

Show was good.
Pros for me.
Halo Infinite - New engine, Reach-Tech was starting to show its age
Gears 5- Characters look THIC! Indications of more story.
Ori and the Will and The Wisp- Nothing to complain about
5 New Studios- Please don't waste them.
Battletoads
Positive Indications of increased 1st Party Investment
Forza Horizon 4 looks great (even though I don't care about racing games)

MS has a long term marketing deal with EA so they have to promote some of their titles.

We already know MS has partnerships with EA, Ubisoft, Square- Enix and likely Bethesda. I wonder if MS expanded their outsourcing contract with Sega's Studios (Creative assembly made Halo Wars 2 & Age of Empire 3 is being made by Relic). I also think if MS approached companies such as Capcom, Square-Enix or THQ Nordic, those companies would be willing to develop games for MS.

Announcing 3 Gears of War games sounds plan ridiculous. Why would MS promote a 5th Dead Rising when Dead Rising 4 didn’t sell well at all as a timed exclusive (and didn’t do too well overall). Also Remedy is a notoriously slow studio, I couldn’t see them developing Alan Awake 2 and P7 at the same time. However, I do believe in some of your other predictions.

The lower number of games being touted makes me more optimistic that I won’t see cartoon indie after indie after indie after indie....after indie....after indie.

1. Perfect Dark Reboot
2. Halo 6
3. Ori and the Will of the Wisp
4. Gears of War news
5. A surprising new (or returning) IP.

Respawn is owned by EA.

There is some indication that The Coalition may not intact be bound to only Gears of War if rumoured as speculation are too be beloved. MS has hired a lot of people for 343i, Rare and The Coalition. Rare is MS’s only studio with full creative freedom. Rare hasn’t been able to make titles as well received Turn 10, 343i and The Coalition, despite having more creative in the projects they develop.

Playground has proven themselves to be reliable 2nd party developer for MS. There is evidence that Playground been bought by MS ( 2947d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

I really liked the Castlevania Netflix series despite never playing the games. I would really Netflix to create animated adaptations of some of my personal favorite videogame franchises.

Perfect Dark, it has a number of rumors, also assuming the reboot is real it would likely have a shorter dev-time than the rumored Fable reboot. Therefore, I think the Perfect Dark reboot (if real) in my opinion has decent chance of being shown at E3.

I don't believe this as MS has two shooter IPs that are more successful than Duke Nukem.

The heavy hitters still get most of the player engagement during the holidays. Crackdown is not a big franchise, it sales have always been well below the like of Halo and Gears of War.

Crackdown 3 wouldn’t survive a fall 2018 release, there are too many heavy hitters. I original predicted that Crackdown 3 would release this summer. However, no new footage has been shown of the game since to E3 2017, so a delay to spring or winter 2019 makes sense.

Like the idea of Halo 6 being called " Halo 6: Infinity" if the UNSC's flagship is major part of the games plot. Halo 4 could also be called "Halo 4: Requiem" in hindsight.
