"People got in their minds that what we were trying to do was evil or anti-customer when, in fact, we were looking at what Steam does, we were looking at what iOS is going, we were looking where the customers were going and saying 'I think we can actually give you a better all-digital experience."

Nintendo will never die, and neither will their mascots.
Even if the Wii U ends up a total failure (it's a failure at this point; doesn't mean it will be in a year or two from now) Nintendo's overall business is safe between the hoard of cash they sit upon and the vitality of the 3DS which is poised for a banner year with a new Pokemon and Zelda coming out.
Nintendo has enough cash on hand to completely scrap the Wii U whenever they feel like it a...
Great game. Hard mode is HARD.
It's like pixel twist only way more fully featured.
Wind Waker came out in 1993? Wow, way ahead of its time. I mean, I knew it was a classic, but I assumed it was more of like a modern classic. Can't believe in just two years from LttP they were able to make Wind Waker. That's crazy!
Puzzles and Dragons probably shrugs at that figure.
Why can't we be friends. ..
I love Sony and Nintendo.. I have a Wii, PS3, 3DS, and PSP. I'll eventually get a Wii U, a PS4, and a Vita. Nintendo and Sony support their systems with enough first party games to justify their purchase.
I can't say the same for another system manufacturer.
I think it's a good idea. I don't want one, if anything I want an XL. But I don't think its particularly ugly or unwieldy. Definitely a good price and an attractive offering for small children.
wth is Nintendo thinking with this... I like that they are trying to find a cheaper alternative to attract more consumers... but this??? I guess it's for little children.. parents won't have to be concerned about 3D having a detrimental effect on their eyes?
Why is it then that the Xbox community is widely regarded as full of bratty kids, racists, and sexist morons? That was always my experience anyway pre-2009 when all I gamed on was 360. Is it magically different now? Also, I never found XBL to be all that better than PSN. Same experience basically, no lag difference, and there are always people playing. Of course I didn't have a PS3 pre 2009, so again, maybe things have changed a lot since the early years of this gen.
...
DS is the GOAT handheld imo... its library is just too vast and varied to consider anything better. It's like the PS2 of handhelds.
Not only looking at the HUGE disparity of AAA exclusives between 360 and PS3, also the actual hardware of the first gen 360 and PS3.
Which system launched with full backwards compatibility, wifi, HDMI, bluetooth rechargeable controllers, and slot-loading bluray that doesn't scratch discs?
Which system had an relatively normal 10% failure rate and which had a failure rate estimated anywhere between 25-50%?
Which system introduced a subscri...
Personally I think XB1 has a better REVEALED exclusive lineup, but that's really a shallow way to compare the support for each system. With 30 exclusives in the work by Sony Worldwide, there is still a lot we haven't seen yet.
And the bigger thing to look at is the current gen- how well has Sony supported their system with exclusives over the years compared to MS? Sony has a long history of supporting their systems with lots of new content late into the systems life...
@Lawson
Yeah true but Pokemon has nothing on Ni No Kuni's style or story
Hopefully Level 5 has shown with Ni No Kuni how Nintendo or Gamefreaks are to do a proper 3D Pokemon game and bring their Monster Training expertise to the next level.
I loved Lost Magic; it was one of the best early DS games as a proof of concept. It definitely lacked a bit of polish but it was fun as hell to play regardless.
I wasn't referring to the emulator regarding the fact that people such as yourself refuse to spend $1-2 on any app. There are some excellent paid games for mobiles and you're doing yourself a disservice as a gamer by limiting an available platform to you. Just my opinion.
Obviously I know the price of the emulator as I indicated that I have it. Funny you brag about spending $200 in a summer on games as a justification for not being cheap but then make "8 whole ...
It is a debate about entitlement.
Regardless of the element of piracy or not- that debate has no bearing here- these apps take time to develop and polish. This emulator has more polish than just about any emulator I've ever tried for any platform- and the "high" price tag is plenty worth it.
You've only paid for one app because you are cheap like so many other smartphone owners. For all the money people waste on all sorts of things, and to...
Oh please. There is room for more realistic games that push the graphical capabilities of smartphones forward, as well as retro styled, cartoony, and simplistic looking games that don't focus on graphics. There are only a few developers who really push the envelope when it comes to graphics and it's ridiculous to make both the claims that 1.) these games will always have poor controls and 2.) they are the culprit behind a lack of originality since they try to copy console games.
There is no "should" when it comes to buying a launch console. Just "will" or "won't".
$5 for Rayman Origins for PS+ amazing price for an excellent game
Totally agree. It's crystal clear they don't give a flying **** about core gamers beyond their loyalty to Halo, Gears, and Forza. They are more focused on their own schemes on how to get mass market appeal while circumventing core gamer concerns. Well that's come back to bite them in their smarmy asses, and their reversal of fortune and backtracking just makes them look more pathetic than ever at this point. They clearly over-estimated the ability of their core franchises to a...
