Microsoft said no to HDD, HDMI and high capacity removable media drives standard.
Sony said yes to HDD, HDMI and also added blu-ray. All these features where standards on the ps3.
Your statement doesn't seem to fit. Even though the 360 lacks these standards on all models SE still said yes.
I'm not sure how to explain this. Maybe someone else who understands what i'm saying will give it a shot.
Anyway, I read your history about how S...
If he means what I think he said, it relates to choosing one platform or both case by case.
In other words they'll continue choosing what consoles get what. Some may go multi some may not. This is nothing more then him stating he can and will continue to work with all consoles and not restrain development to one lead console.
In this case multi could represent choosing to continue to work with all console manufacturers.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is to be announced soon. Perhaps this is the shocking exclusive Wada touts as balence.
Oh, another thing about this. Isn't 2010 near the end of the 360's life as a console? If this is true the 360 will be discontinued shortly after FF13, if MS follows the 5 year console standard.
I'm not a big fan of Microsoft but. (sigh)
Umm.. (pause), you assume that the Microsoft brand doesn't effect console sales as much as the Sony brand. Yes this new model would be nice if it was $300-$350. I disagree with your second part on brand loyally being one sided though and heres why..
How many people do you know that hasn't heard of Microsoft. Thats a brand too. Most people who have a computer know the Microsoft brand.
People see that logo e...
Today, people tend to forget that jrpgs are mostly about the gameplay, character personalities and the story. Sure having eye candy helps, but not everyone is playing for pure eye candy. I checked some of these screenshots and I'd be thrilled to play this game.
If people want an RPG that is a FPS then choose fallout or Oblivion. These old school games are no different then early FF games that die hard RPG fans played for hours on end.
JRPGS are more about the sto...
The comments and actions of SE where to create controversy. What better thing draw as much attention as possible to you then to make a surprise announcement. After getting the interest levels up all eyes are wide open watching and waiting for SE's next big announcement.
Now that SE has this attention they can announce FFXI for the PS3 and people will be there to hear about it. Hopefully this statement isn't a big letdown like so many *just wait* statements given to the press a...
I think he misinterpreted console sales with the ego that who won E3 with the biggest surprise.
Everyone was saying that announcement all but killed anything sony had to offer.
Like it stole attention from Sony. I think it did. Of E3 that single announcement had the most shock and awe effect.
Did it kill PS3? No.
Did it get the most press and attention to the 360 show? IMHO yes it did.
What always happens when people a...
That the JRPG fans didn't forsee the PS3 having a small RPG lineup when they made a PS3 purchase.
It's disturbing that the one 3rd party rpg game that stood out the most suddenly isn't exclusive. This is fairly harsh considering a large percentage of the RPGS released seem to be exclusively on the 360.
Jack said himself. "We have a plan for PS3." He then pointed out that in that plan only one exclusive party RPG was planned.
With so few o...
I'm sure a lot of these features that use large amounts of ram could be done. Figure it like the PC going into hibernate mode. The core system memory is reserved for the XMB etc.
What would happen is the memory would be frozen then all 500 megabytes stored on the HDD freezing the game state.
The web browser etc could then load up with full resources available to browse etc. The games state is stored as data on the HDD. When you switch back to the game it does t...
Everything is a balance act when it comes to configurations. I agree that all systems should have BC. The issue is when things are removed to save money. The PS2 had several features removed last gen that made it lose compatibility and HDD support. MS made the HDD optional. Both where backslides in technology solely to save them money.
The morale of my statement is this. If you want to save money make the full featured system your flagship model, but allow some extra features t...
All consoles. One model that you can upgrade and one model thats already upgraded. This way both are the same just packaged differently. Allowing the 30+ (guess) configurations.
The basic model should always have a minimal standard that won't effect compatibility for this generations games.
It would always include:
1. A high capacity media drive.
2. Wireless and wired lan.
3. A standard HDD.
4. HDMI.
Features that can be...
Sony is doing the same thing but they announced it was a 40g system with an 80g HDD.
I like the BC in my PS3, and even though I can buy a cheap PStwo it can't play my favorite game without a HDD.
Same thing here with MS everyone is cutting corners this generation.
Choice? The only choice your getting is pay less for the HDD when you buy the console or more when you upgrade it. This go's for 360 and PS3. At least with Sony you don't have proprietary...
Just think, It could've been worse if he was a psycho. At least he didn't break into SE take it out on employees. that would've been a lot worse.
That's taking fanboy levels to extremes.
at least he's threatening to kill himself not fly to SE HQ and cause harm to the employees.
Either way, he needs help if this caused him stress.
You pointed out what I was thinking about RPGS. Thats what I spent the $ on when I baught a PS2. Now 360 is the RPG monster Sony was last generation.
If they aren't going to broaden the RPG lineup perhaps owning a PS3 for RPGS isn't all that great.
Sony should listen and make a few more RPGS, before that audience gets the picture and realises that RPGS have a bigger selection on 360.
Back when ps1 was king my systems drive broke after about a year. You know what I did? Because I loved gaming I just baught a new PS1. Same thing with my 3 Nes systems when the connecters whore out. Even when my PS2 laser burned out I baught a new PS2 "it wasn't under warranty" Good thing I didn't throw that one out though because after 2.3 years long after the warranty was out Sony was sued and they repaired it free.
Ok, now look at the 360. How many hardcore people ...
The games that excited me on Nes, Genesis, SNES, PS1, PS2 and PS3 where the strong line up of good long rpgs.
Where is that lineup this generation. 360 is getting loads and loads of RPGs. Some are exclusive to the 360. How can Sony sit back and not put out games like Dark Cloud, Rogue Galaxy, Final Fantasy and Kings Field.
In their rush to make their lineup include more FPS games Sony forgot about the thing that attracted a large following. The very thing that he...
Simply offering support assistance, promoting sales and showing presentations of higher install base that've assumed more profitability etc.
I think Sony just doesn't know how to negotiate as good as Microsoft. They also keep making unattractive critical mistakes. Microsoft is doing the same but at least they've managed to manipulate the market towards their advantage.
I interpreted SE's statement as:
SE is riding on the console war like the arms d...
Just look at FF 11 online. SE is still raking in the $$ for that. Only a small portion of these users are PS2 and PS3 customers. Most of them are using windows based PC's or 360 consoles.
Sony hurt SE bad just after the Hdd launch they cancelled the FFXI hdd and even initially delayed it do to Everquest.
SE is making truck loads of cash off MS.
People, tend to forget though that after Squaresoft made the "Final Fantasy Spirits Within" the...
He didn't lose much when the game was beat.
Really unless your already deep into the game you shouldn't need to worry. This guy started at the beginning and cheated to the end in less time then it takes to take a restroom break. Not like we can't restart and play it the right way after doing a speed run.
