I have A PS3 for entertainment in the family room. We had a few issues because the PS3 wasn't always running the batteries where never freshened and had to be plugged in while playing after about a month.
The problems with tripping over these cables. Also the cats kept chewing wires up so we decided an external charger was needed to keep the system cordless after months of inactivaty.
Works great if my nephew spends the night he won't need to charge through the ...
Don't you think SE would be doing the same for the 360 exclusives if it really was based on the success of the console.
It's like when he makes this statement he knows very well several 360 exclusives aren't going to the PS3.
So is the PS3 not successful enough to get some 360 exclusives ported over or was some other influences that derailed exclusively?
Seems he stated this in general.
It's not about money: Translation "We didn't pay them."
When he says it isn't about money but A bigger install base he's forgetting that the 360 exclusives would benefit as well on the PS3. Question I have though is:
If no incentives where used to move this game multi so it would make more money, then why hasn't SE done the same for the 360 exclusives. It's obvious if they want a bigger profit by making this exclu...
This guy says:SE can't ignore the 360's success.
Is he (Edit:Albert Pennello) indirectly implying that the PS3 is a failure because SE exclusives didn't jump ship to the PS3? I think if he's going to cheer a victory he shouldn't dismiss that Sony's PS3 is also a very successful console.
I see some quantity that interest me. Look at all those RPGS. I would rather play RPGS on my PS3. I might need to get one of these newer stable 360's if Sony's RPG lineup doesn't start picking up.
If they took that article and made a comparison of the types of games it'd show 360 has a lot of RPGS.
This is what I want the most RPGS.
Sony are you listening, the RPG fans from last gen miss the RPG lineup. I can't speak for them but, I want more RPG g...
America's Army developed a game to get teens interested in the army.
Burger King created the king games.
I would guess this could also be like wii fit.
Games can make people gain weight if not regulated. I assume this was the goal of Nintendo. To create something to counteract the couch potato gamers. Make a game to educate people about excercise.
In the end all these games do one thing. Advertises or educate for some interest.
People tend to forget the entertainment value of a game is more then it's eye candy and the type of game it is.
Most of the time a good game is popular more because it's entertaining to play and watch.
You can put out an action, adventure, RPG, FPS or a platformer.
As long as it's fun and had a good story behind it a lot of people who are into that will by it for that entertainment value.
Some games don't need stories like tetris or puz...
Just do a google search for : game violence study.
Several studies have been done that in some cases have positive effects.
Most stable people can differentiate reality from fiction and realise right from wrong. Most of the big crimes linked to gaming in general have been confirmed to have mental instability as a primary cause.
I think it's like driving a car. In a normal persons hands with a stable mind it's enjoyable and a feasible mode of transp...
We have a constitution for keeping the government in check to protect the public. Looks like the legislators who are mostly lawyers by nature forgot that the constitution is part of the law.
Just because legislators have power and people demand stricter laws. It doesn't mean it'll easily be passed if they neglect the highest law.
The constitution.
Because of them ignoring it in the first place it's costing tax paying citizens. Drop it already and s...
(This was suppose to be a separate comment not a reply to another user. I apologise)
I've seen this as a problem. 500+ gigabytes is nice but what about having multiple lasers? If the disc speed was kept constant then multiple layers could be read at different locations on the disk increasing the read performance without raising the RPMS. This would significantly increase the price though on the readers.
It seems like having all those layers would cause even more ...
The company doing this is Pioneer after all.
The definition of pioneer is: One that originates or helps open up a new line of thought or activity.
-- OR --
An early settler in a new territory.
I'm thinking that this would be done to make a standardised chip that could unify a development plateform.
I also, think if done right in concept would seem like a way to increase software hardware efficiency.
Just like onboard caches helped offset the earlier bus limitations having a direct link inside CPU directly to the CPU could decrease or even bypass the bus to graphics.
Some of the biggest complainants today is the bus limitations between...
I agree 50/50 with what your saying. I do disagree that everyone is enjoying all the exclusives on the PS3.
I'm sorry but so far i've seen so many JRPGS on the 360 while the PS3 has a limited lineup. Sure it's nice to have exclusive games but if one group of very popular games is lacking then the lineup isn't as exciting to me.
Look back in history. Some of the most popular games helped sale consoles. The biggest kick in the but that brought Sony to the masses wa...
If your trying to defeat a smaller army that's protected inside a secure stonghold. The best strategy isn't always a direct assault. The battle will end with a unecessary casualties to your armies.
Instead make a camp outside, taking control of the local villagesand their farms. Then guard the entrances and exits to block any supplys getting through. Eventually the army inside the castle will surrender or become to weak to defend itself do to hunger.
I understand...
The tails series isn't on PS3 yet.
My guess is because most RPGS don't need a lot of power under the hood it could be easier to crank them out on the 360. The power of the cell isn't really necessary for them (except the highly rendered ff's).
It's much easier just to program if you don't need to thread the processes. The only real reason to use a lot of power is to add eye candy to a JRPG.
A simple PC quality port isn't as complex it only the sin...
I'd like this game to but on a console not a handheld. It just seems like people are so picky about the graphics sound and overall size of games on consoles' but not many people complain that a lot of the old IPs are being developed on lower end handhelds.
It's obvious why companies are keeping sequels to the handheld market. Not only are they cheaper to produce they have a large install base and no complaints saying they aren't next gen quality.
Why would they n...
I agree with this EA guy. All in all he gives a very balanced view of how well all consoles are doing.
The only problem with this interview is it doesn't touch on the negative side of the game industry. As we all know the biggest stories that get the most attention aren't balanced and show a lot of positive or negatively towards the industry.
It's good to read something like this though because it ooens peoples minds to all the wonderful things going on and wher...
The games won't look as good on the 360 versions do to size constraints. Something about games being on 2 DVDs using compression and the royalties from a 3rd disk wasn't feasible?
Someone please correct me if i'm wrong. I think an there was a resent article here on N4G of him stating that the 360's media format caused serious problems.
If this is the best platform why would he make the other statement then make a contradiction?
At several things happened that could have changed the course of sales. Some of them could've been based on E3 or other factors.
#1 Microsoft announced a price reduction.
Effect on #1: price reductions almost always increase sales for a short while as everyone waiting decides the price is right. If this is the sweet spot they've been waiting for time it's to go pick one up in anticipation. This still wouldn't explain the -25% overall sales from the previous week....
Anyone notice this thing looks almost sealed shut. I'd see overheating issues here because it doesn't look like there are any vents on it to air cool itself.
The only thing I see is the vent in the back beside all those protruding wires.
