Most of the stuff is cool but I'm having a few problems.
#1 I can't turn off that scrolling info bar at the top it's annoying. The text rolls constantly and should have a kill switch or something.
#2 I don't like the friends list gray boxes just don't fit with the rest of the XMB. Unless they plan on putting extra info in there or I'm having a hard time reading white on light grey. I'm not Color blind but it's much harder to read names on my friends list now that the...
I never got passed the PSN check.
I recently posted about dev not doing enough to get the titles back into production. It was in the buying used and Jaffy fighting. What happens LOL suddenly his product is getting announced just like what I was writing about..
My statement was that in some cases the only way to get out of production titles was to buy used. I then pointed out I didn't want digital downloads I wanted tangible on disc.

Download thong costumes. I remember way back we earned special items and features by unlocking them in game. Now days everything is starting to be unlockable if you have money.

The Wii has FF2 the after years and it has plenty of DLC sub stories. This is nothing new to them.
I loaded it up today and all the zones I entered where full of players. It's a big step up when all the zones are full of people. Consider that each zone has multiple instances there are obviously a lot of people on home.
That would mean for this game.
PC > PS3 > 360
PC has everything.
PS3 could have user created content.
360, restricted content.
PC > I don't care about PC even though it'll be the easiest to mod and probably the best version. I love the console security and hate installing software on PC's.

FF11 has always needed an HDD. If it needs installed with 3-5 disc most of or all of the data will be stored on the HDD. If you happen to own a 360 and buy this say goodbye to your 120gb HDD as most of it probably will be consumed by this online game.
Look at it this way.. The outdated FF11 uses about 10-12 gigabytes on a PS2 and PS3. The updates need install space to. If you combine that with the graphics update this version is bound to be bigger. It's been posted by the develop...
If it's a 40 or 60gb with BC (OMG)
If it's an 80 with partial BC.. (why)
If it's a 40gb-80 with no BC (better power consumption bigger HDD)
If it's a 160gb with no BC, (whats the difference between the 40-80s with no BC? The HDD on the slim can be upgraded making the slim just as good if not better for $70 about the cost of a new game.)
It's not really a good thing to sell the models with full BC. They're worth more then the slims IMHO. The other systems though ...
I think it would be good because I myself don't plan on putting money in another FF online. Based on the current customer feedback on average they probably won't change the way they do busyness for FFXIV.

They might start the same thing EA is planning with Dragon Age. You buy a game and it has a one time code that unlocks content.
When the customer buys a used game they can get it for lower price but it won't have this content unlocked. Basically they add licensed content on the disc so if a game is sold used the only way to unlock it legally is to purchase that used content.

If you want a PS3 60gb and care about BC this would help put more used BC models on the market.
I just wish customers could trade up for a better value.

I hate to say it but in my option Sqaure Enix is becoming more like EA everyday. The only difference is it's based in Japan.

If they can't support their software fine atm. as long as people know not every game supports this feature and it's the developers job.
The developer can't blame the Sony for upgrading their firmware to make the customer base happy.
This is an advancement that might not be compatible at the start. It's not like the feature won't be available for developers to create *future* titles. There is no reason to be holding everything back because technology moves ahead.
Just put them on a PS2 or make them a single download on PSN and 360.

Every time I see the what's new icons the internet is being accessed. Yea it's constantly downloading that info off the PSN network even when your not signed in.
Move your XMB over the whats new back and forth a few times. Watch your network indicators download the data each time. Take everyone on PSN downloading these every time making a connection each time that pops up could be whats making PSN log ones fail.
