Sackboys, RC cars, robots, dogs and cats that follow my avitar around when I access my inventory. ^.~

LBP would be nice if they finally fixed game loading from inside home.

A lot of new games cost more to produce because the technology behind them requires more professional designers. In the pas with NES games your artiest team had a simple task, your righter only had to make a good story and your programmer had to put the images on the screen.

Now days games need the developers to hire high end artiest, animators, actors script writers etc. The list is so long it's not even funny.

Todays games aren't as simple as the atari games of the...

I just looked newegg.com still has the 80gb cores for sale at $299. What's funny is the recertified 80gb units are $319 LOL. Someone needs to tell newegg they're not gonna be selling the recerified units for $320 when a new unit sales for less with free shipping and handling.

Suddenly, everyone wants Sony to make more money?

It's like your offering Sony advice to give you less for more money. Your the customer not the busyness. You don't profit from paying more to buy Sony products you lose money. You should be wanting more for less not the other way around.

People who want PSN to be a subscription service say things like this. Maximize your profits by making the PSN service a subscription. Don't give the customers BC because it cost more...

If it's not clear already, the media is a conglomerate of the PC & entertainment industry.

On IGN, Fix the other day they showed the PS3 slim and stated they had the model weeks in advance before the announcement. Then the guy abruptly throw the PS3 slim aside like it was trash to announce the daily fixs 100th feed.

A staff member saw the recent article about the PS3 vs 360 price comparison and got upset. Since he wasn't a journalist he wrote a blog then people picked it up.

It's news and opinions from PC World staff. For all we know it could be a janitor writing this blog. If they work at PC World they qualify to post blogs on the PC World Blog site. Unfortunately, most peo...

To think we've been saying the slim is on the way so long finally it's here.

Looking at the 360 hardware in the arcade unit I'm guessing they could easily sell them for $99-$150 if MS did that it'd not only hurt ps3 sales but start cutting into ps2 sales.

Everyone including me is happy about the PS3 slim and the price cut. I just don't think MS will give up and let the PS3 dominate sales. I'm sure old MS will counter soon with something like what I mentioned above if Sony starts dominating in sales again. They did it last time when PS3 price was reduced. ...

Sony didn't make a smart move. Instead of just making units that had bigger hdds they should have made 2 pure models.

$299 The cheapo one that is slim like with everything stripped out.
$399 The expensive one with everything.

People who only want the system for PS3 games and nothing else get what they want and the hardcore fans get what they want EVERYTHING. Already there are people paying double for PS3 60gb models because the newer systems don't support it. ...

That article said you can no longer install a separate OS.

No more "install alt OS" option.

"Since the new PS3 mainly concentrated on entertainment, it is the "Other OS feature, however, no longer to be found. Somit kann man auf der neuen PS3 kein Linux mehr installieren. So you can on the new PS3 no longer install Linux."

Why did they remove that?

The last printer I bought didn't include a cable.
The last PC I bought didn't include a restore CD.

They did include standard cables that most TV's support. Back in the NES and SNES days those systems included RF adapters. You could buy the device that would do RED/WHITE/YEllOW. (Always get composite and component mixed up.) Now a days you can't even find RF adapters for Wii 360 or the PS3. I don't mean the converter boxes I mean straight up RF switches for the tv hookup to...

did it cost you $250 to get your ps3 repaired? Sony does it for $150 and it's a flat rate system. Did you typo because I recently had one replaced and even though the 60gb system was fried it never cost $100 more.

6015d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

don't buy a replacement because the $150 repair option will replace it with the same model.

The one I got was a *new* ps3 60gb not a refurbished unit.

NO the hdds are encrypted to the ps3 serial numbers. Each PS3 uses it's own key to read-write to the drive. If you put it in your new system it'll need reformatted because the data is garbage to anything but the ps3 it was meant for.

This is why you need to back it up.

My mother recently had the PS3 YLOD playing infamous on my 60gb launch ps3.

THe one thing I hate is having things like little big planet and the one save option. In other words you can't use a memory card to backup multiple saves or accounts on a single SD card. If I wanted to backup my LBP save I couldn't create archives of my saves. I also couldn't backup my save and then my mothers save on that sd card. I'd need one SD card per save.

This isn't a good way to mana...

It's fan stopped working and it self destructed.

The good news is I called up Sony and they offered to repair or replace it with the same model 60gb. When I ask if they where going to ship me another model the CS replied no you'll get the same model you sent in. I replied but didn't they stop manufacturing the 60gb models? The CS replied "Sony 60gb models will be available for repair or replacement for the foreseeable future."

So for $150 Sony replaced my b...

A well managed game disc can last hundreds of years. If taken care of the content always remains the same. If it's new or been played by 50 people in doesn't matter because no wear is made to the digital content. A car on the other hand has wear and tear and loses value over time because of it.

If you buy a used car chances are it has a lot of wear and tear. Also take note how fast the value of a car drops.

Games don't really lose value from wear and tear. They get p...

This would be awesome for those new games that use motion control. Currently the biggest flaw in these new motion controllers is the lack of touch feedback.

Could you imagine playing a game that has just this technology. Not saying painful levels but the ones where when you interact you feel getting hit by bullets etc inside a VR environment.

The ability to interact with a hologram is awesome but not as feasible as the ability to feel objects in open space. If for i...
