There is one thing the guy didn't think about. His computer was probably key logged. I'm sure he logs on PSN with the PC..

People should have something like this free software install for web browsing.

QOUTE
"Laws trump any contract or agreement. Sony could say whatever they want in the EULA but they still have to comply with local/national/international laws.

Sony has hung themselves. The argument that they have a right to update the firmware falls flat, as Other OS was a selling point as well as being able to play on Playstation.com. Now the new firmware says you MUST give up one of those features. The PS3 box said you could do both, not one or the other." END...

Most of the time when big companies do security lockouts it just encourages crackers more. In the end who does it really hurt the people breaking the law or the customers?

My guess is the next security fix will disable the ability to patch by USB flash memory because that's how he's doing it now. ...

The episode at Ohiocon where there was a cursed superhero teen was in trouble they had cloe playing this game as an in show advertisement. I device isn't even out yet and they're plugging it in TV shows. They even mentioned Xbox 360.

I don't think you're looking outside the box. Laws and contracts are put in place to protect people. It doesn't make it right in a moral sense to abuse the legal system. There are laws in place that can rip away possessions you have and the persons taking them are protected. Just because one law protects an entity doesn't mean there are ways around them with another.

For instance as an example if a minor enters a contract the law doesn't allow minors to enter contracts and a mino...

Then, they'll be losing features that where advertised at the point of sale. At which point the contract they make clicking accept wouldn't be valid because they declined it. At this point they'd still be losing key advertised features in the future for hitting the decline button.

The decline is an opt out, it's your right to decline the updates but you aren't really given a choice when your system will be bricked from new games or other features if you choose not to update. <...

You think people are wasting their time. Some also think Sony had a right to do what they did.

here's how I see it.

Sony gave 2 options.

Upgrade and keep, blu-ray, games and ps3, but lose Other OS.
Don't upgrade keep Other OS and lose PSN, Blu-ray and all future new features which will be taken away if you choose not to upgrade.

Where I come from there is a saying.

"Damned if you do damned if you don't"

The provoke and threaten are limited to sword and spear. I like sword myself but provoke is only one target.

The delays for using abilities is horrible, most of the abilities take so much time to activate that using them to increase/decrease damage results in a about the same output.Assuming you figure in the ability just before a combo.

with bonus

Power up > Ability + 100 + 100 + 100 + 100 (back to normal) 5 moves total damage 400!

What's also stupid is DRM game saves.

They're protecting the game saves that you worked through from being copied or backed up. It's one thing to restrict games from being pirated but the game saves could at least be limited to user account restrictions. For all that's holy if I make a save under my username Sarick I should be allowed to transfer that save to any system that I have access to my account on.

Even better, why can I not copy my saves because some company...

Maybe Sony would not have made the saves as copy protected. It's one thing to restrict them to a user account but to literally make it so only the original console could access the save. This was before the transfer option that won't save you if you get YLOD. Spending hundreds of hours leveling up only to lose it all.

Demons souls was a fun and hard game just not something that is very capable of keeping the users saves in tact after data or hardware failure.

I like the way Sony has their content setup inside most games. If you want content in LBP it'll tell you your missing content and even link you to the content inside the game. It's just not point and click you at the time your told you lack the content. We have to want the content before it auto places the item in your face to purchase.

To me it's like putting a big juicy hamburger in front of someone just before lunch hour and telling them it cost this much to eat it. The brain ...

Think about it. The talented programmers designers etc. don't run the developer 100%. They can share ideas, program code or design breathtaking art. It isn't always apparent that the company leaders and producers have a final say on what gets invested in and what hits the chopping block.

Think of it this way. Let's assume some small company started up an under funded space company to fly to Mars. It wouldn't matter how good the talent was if the owners of the company weren't inte...

I'm sure Value is like most other companies that just want to make money. Seeing the trend where the PS3 is having supply issues much like the Wii had in it's early days. This might have caught the attention of developers who weren't interested in the PS3.

I know it seems shallow to think that companies are being greedy and arrogant at times but the truth is most of them follow what they think will earn them cash. Back when the PS3 first launched the PS3 was just starting out. No...

If they're willing to spend 50,000 on add on game content, pay extra to get timed exclusives and exclusive 3rd party deals.

Do you not think they'll be writing a few checks to the bill makers who we vote for? Think about it, when an elected official is getting donations to support their million dollar campaigns what types of people mostly fund them?

I assure you someone will be getting a donation.

They can get government money to pay for their security servers & services.

Who do you think the government will be paying that money too? Yea it's like asking the government to pay them money to protect us from their mistakes. I agree with the OP a lot of MS PC's get infected and most are caused by the MS OS.

Do you think calling people names and talking down to them is going to justify your argument about how good a game or developer is?

Just because they have an option you disagree with doesn't give you the right to call them fools for their approval or disapproval of a product. All you had to say is you didn't like the software. You didn't need to talk down on people who think differently.

The fact is the developers are having problems right now and it isn't really gam...

Got shot down by people saying that 3rd party sales don't amount to anything.

Sad.

It's true If piracy was completely eliminated the DEVs would go after the 3rd party sales next. You see that's what gives this gen planned obsolescence. Download content and the DRM used in them cause them to be so outdated they stop working. Once you erase your DLC or saves or if the service used to back them up no longer transmits that data you lost it. If you don't have physical bac...

This glitch isn't rocket science. The Internal clock said it's the 29th and the OS clock couldn't recognize it as a real date. This means the software couldn't interpret what the real data was so it thought there was a failure.

As for trophies not working offline it was the system used to sync with the date. Because the hardware date was invalid when the software went to initialize them (locally) it couldn't because it was informing the software of an invalid non-existent date. ...

I didn't say it was going to the PS3 or Wii. I made it very clear that it was the first thing that popped in my head. So I posted that wow/bomb thought as a comment. Where did I say "going to PS3" in my comment? People assume to much when they read comments.

If I'm not mistaken, the PC isn't getting reach either. Hopefully those people who agree/disagreed would reread that comment and realize just how much they misinterpreted it. There is no logic behind it when people ...
