I haven't pre-ordered any next gen console yet, I've see the specs for both systems, I know Microsoft's policies, and I'm also waiting for more AAA launch titles that interest me. When I do decide to go next gen my money is on PS4.

Plus isn't free so the free games you speak of come with PLUS. They aren't free because you only get them without charge because you pay the fees for plus.
Azuske mentioned some games will allow free online without plus. I'm not sure if this is fact or rumor in any case this doesn't mean all of them will be free without plus.

I'm not a fan of Microsoft. What I'm saying about PS4 becoming more like the XBOX live subscription box rings true If you pay close attention and compare policy changes.
All companies are in business to make money. Last gen Sony leveraged the free online PSN multi-player and people loved it. Even though multi-player wasn't a high priority It was free in comparison to live like PC multi-player. This single concept made it and Sony totally awesome in my book.

Free multi-player was a highlight of owning a PS3. This meant that customers who bought the system had the opportunity to pay extra for plus amenities. Now that it's attached to PSN plus it makes the PS4 a subscription box closer to what Microsoft did with LIVE.

Yes people hated the Virtual Boy. It was gold monochrome graphics and gave most people severe headaches. Neo-geo was mostly because of the price and lack of games. I wanted one but I think it as roughly $600 back then.
So yea, Those companies made horrible mistakes that made the market upset.
Sony would really dominate more if they announced something like: "Customers who pre-order a PS4 get FREE online multi-player for this gen."
It's stuff like this that tell people WOW I better get one or i'll lose the opportunity to have something special for pre-ordering. It's an incentive worth pre-ordering a console. Much more then just getting it first launch you have something special.

There is a reason. It's so MS can leverage the hardware device as a service to enforce the paid live subscription.

Even with the ram 100 times faster a cold boot does more then just transfer data. The devices hardware and OS need initialized. This takes a few seconds. It's very dependent on the CPU and hardware at the early stages of boot. Yes, it will increase load times but I doubt it'll be instant on ever if it's a true cold boot.

I've been waiting for this. I hear it's cheaper then or about the same cost as flash ram but much much better speeds. If anything this would be the future of storage if we could get terabytes of it.
Think about a gaming system that has almost no limit on the cache size. When the game loads it can store the entire world at once while playing already.
