Neither game is going to do native 1080p. It is a native 720p game, so it will always have to be upconverting to use 1080p.
Actually, that's not true at all, at least not on my Sony HDTV. I have both versions sitting on my shelf right now. I love the game so much and I wanted to get both the achievements and the trophies. So far I have played through the game 5 times.
The two versions are very close but there are a couple differences. First, the PS3 version has a slightly softer look about it. The 360 version is sharper and the colors are slightly more saturated. But on default setting...
Both games lack anti-aliasing so they are by definition the same. The PS3 version looks a little softer though so it might slightly blur some of the jaggies and textures.
They look pretty close. I want to see some framerate analysis, though, since that was the only real difference between the two versions of the fist game. If the 360 version has a better framerate again I might go for that version. But the PS3 version has the Dead Space Extraction, right?
I had one failure way back right after the console launched, but Microsoft quickly fixed it and it hasn't given me any other problems. It was no big deal to me. I definitely didn't go out and buy another console and I know of nobody that did so.
You obviously are trolling. Gears of War 1 and 2 have sold huge amounts and are clearly very popular games. I am looking forward to Uncharted 3, Mass Effect 3 and The Last Guardian with major anticipation, but I am also really looking forward to Gears of War 3. I bet they will all be good games. Brand whores like you though are too clouded by bias to understand that.
Most people miss the bigger message John Riccitiello was getting across, which is that both companies are doing very well and they both have their respective strengths and weaknesses.
Yeah, that was awesome too. Just the fact that it was all in-engine was impressive enough, but it also did a good job of setting the mood for where the next game is going.
The Deus Ex Human Revolution trailer is probably the best game trailer that I have ever seen. If the game is even half as good as its trailer it will be amazing.
All humans are animals if you want to get technical.
Yeah, you really shouldn't feel embarrassed. I know we all sometimes fall into that sort of thinking, but the truth is we are all individuals. Only your own behavior should embarrass you.
For example, I am of mixed decent and I am not going to feel guilty for all the bad things any of the people of similar heritage as me ever did. Am I going to feel guilty for what some native americans did a long time ago, or what some caucasian people did a long time ago? No, becaus...
I totally agree with you, morganfell.
Race shouldn't even be an issue. First of all, scientifically "race" is a very nebulous concept. All races share all the same traits, only to varying degrees, but there is often far more difference between one individual and another within a race than there is between races as a whole. And there are no clear borders between the so called races.
Anyway, I don't care at all about race. All I look at ar...
I don't like terms like black, white, yellow, red..
They are supposedly descriptive terms, but they aren't really accurate. Black people aren't really black, white people aren't white, Asians aren't yellow, Native Americans are not red. Not only that, but there is also a lot of variability of skin tone within the supposed "races". Some Asians individuals are "whiter" than some Caucasians, some Native Americans are darker than some Af...
The brutal melees are awesome. Killzone 3 is going to be great.
@internalbit
Which goes to show that most of the reason why the PS3 has some standout graphical games is because of the talented developers making games for the platform, not because of some imagined superiority of the PS3.
We know a decent gaming PC is much more powerful than the PS3 and Xbox 360. The defining difference is that Sony has more first party developers to push their platform than the PC or 360 does. This is one thing I like about Sony's ap...
@Jammydude
Source please.
According to beyond3D:
http://forum.beyond3d.com/s...
Gran Turismo 5 = 1280x720 (4xAA), 1280x1080 (QAA), 1280x720 (QAA) in 3D mode
That is, GT5 never achieves 1080p. The most it can do is 1280 x 1080 and that reduces the quality of the anti-aliasing to quincunx anti-aliasing which blurs texture detail.

Any fixed hardware always has limits. That is obvious.
@Dead_Pixel
People like you don't make sense to me. I think any good game should be played despite silly hardware loyalties. I believe that developers should also be rewarded when they make something good and not only when they make a game for your preferred console.
Some of the games I am most looking forward to next year are multiplatform games: Dead Space 2, Crysis 2, Deus Ex Human Revolution, Batman Arkham City, Rage, Mass Effect 3.
Like I said before, the fire is just amazing in this scene. I can't wait for Uncharted 3. Luckily there are so many good games coming out between now and then.
I learned long ago not to trust IGN about things like this. When Bioshock came out for the PS3 IGN said that it looked better than the 360 version and then when I played it myself it was obvious that they were full of it.
So somebody at IGN has a history of trying to mislead people on things like this.
